I am applying for Business School to study either an MS or MBA course in Finance. I have always had a strong interest in business, particularly in the financial aspects. My short term goal is learn more about finance including the capital markets, and the background to the critical finance decisions that can make a business successful. I know that in the longer term my upcoming studies will help me to secure a position that will lead to a long career in finance. I have acquired some insight into the world of finance in business through an internship with the Yantai branch of the Bank of China last year (2013), where I fulfilled the role of customer manager, dealing with both corporate and individual clients. I know that a good academic program in financial studies will give me an excellent grounding and a stepping stone to success in my chosen career. I am committed to continuous learning and ongoing self-development, so that I will be ideally qualified to make a significant contribution in the future to the success of a growth-oriented organization.
My educational background includes a B.A. in English Literature from Ludong University (2009-2011) and a B.S. in Business (Major: Finance) at Murray State University, KY, (2011-present). My GPA in my major is 3.82 and my cumulative GPA is 3.72. Courses include Principles of Finance, Financial Management, Business Statistics, and more.
Whilst at Ludong University (where my courses included advanced English and Linguistics), I worked in the Student Association Public Relations Department, raising funds off-campus to help finance student events. I also worked as the English-speaking presenter on the Ludong University radio station. In 2009 I was awarded a National Scholarship and in 2010 I was named as the “Outstanding Individual of the Student Association.”
I am an energetic person, with excellent computer and communications skills and function well as a team player. I am confident that my background, my experience and my education to date are eminently suitable for entry to either of these programs.
