My medical assistant career autobiography
In my early childhood, I was not able to fortunate to attend some of the well regarded schools in my region. All through since kindergarten through high school, I wanted to be a physician. Where I came from there is no student’s loans and becoming a doctor was going to be a challenge for me. In all the schools i attended, all students professed to have a strong educational and ethical philosophy something that remained in me throughout my life. I wasn’t able to fulfill my dream as a doctor. Currently I am studying medical assistant. One career value that is important to me is benefits in the medical field as a medical assistant. I am good in teaching and that is why I am taking medical assistant since part of my work will be educating patients regarding proper administration of the medications. With this value cohesive with my career skill which is assistant medicine I will be able to keep my career up to date. I volunteer in an adult care center every Friday from 8am to 2pm. I love what I do it makes me feel good knowing that I save lives and make someone’s life better (Lejeune, 2009). My goal is to be able to finish my studies and graduate in the associate of medical assisting, pass my certification examinations, and get a good job as a medical assistant in a doctor’s office (preferably in Cardiologist or Dermatologist office). On the other hand, my long term is to be able to finish my bachelor’s degree in health management, work as an administrator in any nursing home or hospital. My only career related fear, is that I am not good in computer and as a medical assistant I need to be documenting everything in the computer such as complaints, signs, and medication. One goal that the instructor can help me accomplish is by helping me know how to use face the challenges and obstacles (Lejeune, 2009).
