I regularly engage with all levels of management, both professionally and efficiently. More specifically, I provide updates on a weekly basis, which are meaningful, and which can inform decision making. As such, it is very important that my communication is clear, concise and backed with data.
As a Warehouse and Logistics director it is imperative to be able to identify gaps in the process and action accordingly. This year was full of many exciting "opportunities.". We came up with a business to consumer program in our Newnan warehouse to mitigate a dilemma. When an increase in Wal-Mart shipping cost was identified we changed the process to analyze the sales and shipment volume by running the data through our existing system reducing regional volume of shipments to twice monthly. When faced with capacity issues in our warehouse our team put together a optimization project to increase capacity by 20%.
As a Warehouse and Logistics director it is imperative that I demonstrate the ability to identify gaps in the process and act accordingly. Identifying these gaps, and establishing change creates the opportunity for significant innovation. As such, this year was full of many exciting "opportunities." I cooperation with other members of management, I designed and implemented a business to consumer program in our Newnan warehouse to mitigate a dilemma we were facing related to execution of order fulfillment. Another example of my effectiveness in this arena was related to an increase in Wal-Mart shipping cost. When this increased expense was identified, I altered the process used to analyze the sales and shipment volume by running the data through our existing system in a more efficient way, which reduced our regional shipment volume to just bi-monthly shipment. Similarly, when faced with capacity issues in our warehouse, under my leadership, our team put together an optimization project to increase capacity by 20%.

With every year that passes I continue to expand my knowledge base. I continue to train my team as well as internal team members. I use my expertise to add value and reduce costs. After evaluating data on our accessorial spend with FedEx we were able to go back to them with new term of negotiating to reduce our overall spend. I worked with Sonoco to improve their overall receipt and picking process reducing their labor cost by 10% (passed to us) and our transportation cost by 5%. Due to a change of leadership I worked concurrently with our 3PLs management to rewrite processes for our value program to increase efficiencies and decrease labor.
I believe it is essential to be a lifetime learner, and as so, with every year that passes my knowledge base and work experience meaningfully expand. I am actively engaged in training my team as well as other internal team members. In that role, I use my expertise to add value and reduce costs within our company. For example, after evaluating data on our accessorial spending with FedEx I was able to lead our team in negotiating a new set of terms with the shipping provider, in order to reduce our overall spending significantly. I also worked with Sonoco to improve their overall receipt and picking process, ultimatley reducing their labor cost by 10%. This allowed them to pass on their savings to us, resulting in a reduction in our transportation cost of 5%. Finally, due to a change of leadership, I worked concurrently with our 3PLs management to rewrite the processes for our value program, in order to increase efficiencies and decrease labor.
I understand the urgency of sales needs and requests and can weigh them judiciously against what the warehouse demand is as well as the costs associated. As a team leader I understand that it is my responsibility to take ownership for myself and my team.

With the growth of our company and the fact that new opportunities continue to arise prioritizing your day is crucial. I understand the sense of urgency of each project and emphasize them accordingly. One of my must crucial projects is the Value program. When the change of leadership happened in our warehouse I had to accept the responsibility of fully managing the project without letting my day to day get behind
Based on the growth of our company, and given the fact that new opportunities continue to arise, the ability to prioritize the demands on my time in any given day is crucial. I understand the sense of urgency that each project demands and recognize how to manage them according to their significance to the company. For example, one of my most crucial projects is the Value program. When the change of leadership occurred at our warehouse location, I had to accept the responsibility of fully managing the project without letting my day to day fall behind, but while also recognizing that it needed to take priority over some of the more mundane aspects of my position.

I work with several cross functional teams through out incomm as well as outside vendors. This past fall I organized a task force that involved sales, trade marketing, pack out vendor, transportation rep, and logistics to increase productivity, reduce trans cost, and increased speed to market, as a result we saved ten percent in labor and reduced logistics cost by five percent. I also worked in conjunction with Archway to identify gaps in processes for value program which resulted in two percent savings in corrugate and increased productivity.

The team’s goals were to increase productivity, reduce transportation costs, and increase speed to market. As a result of our efforts, we saved 10% in labor costs and reduced logistics cost by 5%. I also worked in conjunction with Archway to identify gaps in processes for the value program, which resulted in a 2% savings in corrugate, while also increasing productivity.

Our team is a resource for so many at incomm. We are sought after for our job knowledge and input. I am often consulted on projects outside my team. Recently I have been involved with a trade marketing initiative to decrease out of stocks in our merchant locations. This initiative has led to process changes and multiple sales training sessions.

I try to provide my team with the tools and resources to achieve the goals they set forth. I try to lead my team instead of micromanaging them. I challenge my team to think outside the box. I delegate new exciting projects to keep them out of their comfort zone and provide challenges. Currently one of my team members whose core responsibility is demand planning is benchmarking and managing warehouse vendors and supplies. This type of training and experience will aid him in his progression with the company.

As I continue to grow my skill set as a supply chain professional I rely heavily on my intuition. I carefully weigh out the facts and will illicit any advice from my peers before making a decision.
