My Dream: My Professional Goal Admission Essay Sample

In today’s society, the role of educators is valuable because their life mission is to awaken joy in the process of students’ learning and creative expression. Each of us remembers with fondness a special teacher who left a permanent mark on our being and served as a role model to young, developing minds on the path to adulthood. The actions of these teachers remain imprinted in our brain and my dream is to be one of those educators.
My interest in the field of education started as a child. When playing school with my cousins, I was always the teacher. When there was free time in elementary school, I was in charge of providing a review on what we learned in class. In support of this early interest in education, my parents took me to the bookstore every week to buy a book. After each reading, we would discuss what I learned and understood. These early experiences revealed how much enjoyment I experienced when sharing my knowledge with others. It also motivated me to become involved in the field of education and be one of those special teachers leaving a permanent mark on the minds of students.
Traditionally in my country, Saudi Arabia people believe women should be limited to a formal education that only includes elementary and high school. After that, women are expected to get married, stay home, and take care of their family. However, my dream expands beyond this limit – my goal is to be a professor at one of the best universities in the country.
SJU’s intensive curriculum has provided well-rounded learning experiences that have definitely expanded my knowledge in the field of education. I am interested in and prepared to earn a Ph.D. at SJU because this will help me become an affective educator in my country – a special teacher who leaves a permanent mark.
I have successfully achieved academic goals envisioned and now ready for the next step towards achieving my dream. I am determined, dedicated, and driven to realize my goal; and provided the opportunity, I will rise to meet all academic challenges at your university and become a graduate that SJU can be proud of.
