My Hero Essays Examples

Kid Heroes with sharp mind are found everywhere these days. Ever since I heard about young John from a local news paper, I became a fan if his. John, barely 10-years old saved his teacher’s life when she had a sudden asthma attack in the class. No wonder, I too join his teacher Catherine to accept John as my hero.
One morning, when Catherine was teaching her class, unaware of her allergy to the stinks of an eraser pen, her throat closed. Even as most of her students were watching helplessly she passed out on the floor. Young John knew what to do to save his teacher. Like a Hero, he emerged from a back bench. He searched his teacher’s bag and found the life saver - her inhaler, and gave it to her in time to save her life.
John, though suffering from autism was instrumental in saving a precious life. Later he revealed that he got the idea about the inhaler from a TV program. Even though he lacked social and communication skills, his heart-filled with love helped him to timely respond to save his teacher.
Children with disability like John have immense potential, which needs to be nurtured. Also, TV programs are mostly stereotyped as hazardous to growing children. John’s story is a typical evidence to highlight the positive aspects of TV programs. Unknowingly, the media teach children good life lesson as well.
What enthralls me the most is the self-confidence of John that prompted him to swiftly respond to the situation. His smart initiative, even as the other boys were looking helplessly deserves to be saluted. It is time the world recognized the talents of children with autism and other disorders. Whenever I see a disabled child after hearing about John’s heroic deed, instead of taking pity on the child, I see him or her as an individual with limitless potential worthy of a Hero.
