My Ideal Place Essay Samples

The word has become fast paced, interconnected, busy, bustling with some noise or the other at all times of the day and night. The desire to stay connected and grow has become so ingrained that we seldom realize that we always have a choice to get out of the rat race. The place that you choose to live in can help a lot with this decision to quit and experience some peace and quiet. My ideal place would be a cottage well away from a city, near to a forested area and away from the crowd and pollution.
Although a place away from everything sounds good, I also realize that people are necessary and hence a cottage in a small village with a very small population would be the best. This way I could know my neighbors but still live a small distance away from them so as to not interfere with their affairs and maintain privacy of my own. The place should also be close to a mountain, with a lot of trees and a freshwater stream running along the perimeter of the house. Living close to a mountain not only affords great views of the sunrise and the sunset but also ensures that the cottage looks picturesque. the main reason for choosing a place well away from the city is the lack of pollution that can be found in these places. There is not only a lack of smoke from the vehicles but there is also a distinct lack of noise pollution. There are no sounds of police sirens, ambulances , fire engines and people honking. There are also no problems with the neighbors high volumes stereo or television. There is just the chirping of birds, the water flowing and the rustling of the leaves that can lull you into a state of peace.
Life in a village unencumbered by the daily demands of commute in crowded subways and traffic jams is idyllic as the stress levels come down a lot. There would be no longer mornings where no matter how much a person gets up early and hurries through the morning routine, he or she is invariably late for school or work because there was a traffic jam that would refuse to clear up on time. There would be no more road rage and nervous glances at the watch because there is no traffic and you can walk or cycle to wherever you want to go. Living in a place like this is a dream come true as it helps my conscience to be environmentally friendly. Looking at the trees and the unpaved roads around the cottage, I would consciously cut down on the amount of garbage i produce and also look for innovative and eco friendly ways to dispose of it.
My ideal place would also have a small vegetable patch and fruit bearing trees. The vegetable patch would be designed in such a way that I can harvest tomatoes, cucumbers and other vegetables that I would need for everyday cooking. The place would also have a big garden apart from all the plants and trees so that there would be enough space for my dog to run around. No more of navigating the city streets while taking out the dog for a walk. ANd no more fearing if the other dogs would pick up a fight with mine.
Thus my ideal place would be a small cottage surrounded by a huge garden near a mountain. It would be a place that satisfies all my criteria, namely, solitude, a place away from noise and pollution, a place that is beautiful as well as tranquil and finally a place where I wouldn't have to bump into people on a daily basis. It would also be a place where i would know the people in the village and feel part of the community and not an outsider. Although it sounds difficult to not mee them everyday but still know the, I believe this would work as it helps everyone to know one another in a small place such as this.
