Identifying and clarifying my personal and professional values
Accountability: as a leader, one is supposed to be accountable for their actions and decisions. These are the facts and conditions that make a leader responsible and accountable for their actions and characters.
Authenticity: transparency and reality are the key factors that ensure a leader trustworthy.
Integrity: it is personal quality to uphold ethical, moral and principles as a leader. It is moral uprightness.
Vision and Missions: These personal values help in setting leadership goals, leadership development, and change.
Intentionality: The value of intentionality is developed through the setting plan, strategy, and action in setting an intentional and genuine effort of change. It is considered as deliberate and purposive effort to change.
What are my priorities?
My priorities are integrity, accountability, and authenticity. These values are essential in setting my standards as a visionary leader. The integrity approach provides a great platform for setting ethical principles that guide in every decision making. Accountability helps in ensuring taking charge and responsible for all my action. Authenticity is the foundation of transparency for a trustworthy leadership (Lichtenstein, 2016). Therefore, these values are essential in achieving my missions and vision at a personal level and in leadership.
Identifying “turning points” that have influenced my values and principles
The “turning point” that influences my values and principles are the personal standards and discipline. Developing positive mission and visions enables in setting good plans in achieving my goals. The moral ethics and principles are major turning points that help in achieving the leadership skill and being trusted by other people for the position held in the organization (Kraemer, 2011).
Identifying themes or patterns that have shaped my values and principles
“Determination to achieve higher goals” is the key theme that influences in setting and shaping my values and principles. The achieving all goals, it is essential to identify a theme that helps in shaping personal values and goals. The major consideration is setting achievable goals and developing an appropriate pattern to achieve the set objectives (Lichtenstein, 2016). Therefore, determination theme is essential in ensuring high morale in achieving my goals using appropriate values and principles.
As a future leader, what will I do to ensure my values and principles line up with those of the organization where I work?
The personal value and principles are an essential platform that guides plans as a leader. Behavioral changes are supposed to cope with the advancement of the personal goals and principles. Associating with other employees in the organization helps in showcasing my values. This would encourage others taking positive approach and mechanism in improving on their values and principles (Lichtenstein, 2016). It makes them trust my progress and determination in achieving the changes need by the organization.
What will I do when my values are in conflict with my organization and with my co-workers?
If my values conflict with the organizational values, it would be possible adjusting but considering ethical morals and principles. The relationship with other workers should be formulated by the organizational principles and interests (Lichtenstein, 2016). Therefore, it would be possible working on what is the best to my interests and others values.
How will I resolve these conflicts?
Conflict solving skill is the essential organizational leader needs. This would be based on the organizational values and principles. Engaging the co-workers in the determination of the positive approach would in the managerial setting help in conflict resolution (Kraemer, 2011).
Relating my personal values and principles to professional and organizational success
The values such as accountability, integrity, intentionality and both mission and visions are essential at personal and organizational level. These principles values same interests and hence compactable at personal and organizations. Therefore, they relate perfectly as they indicate same values that are required for professionalism achievements.
