My Personal Susceptibility To Promotional Activities Essay Example

The business of so many marketing companies hinges upon how agreeable a customer can be to the product that they are selling. These marketing strategies which are used to convince the customer of their product are quite ingenious. They convince us that having any product could make life easier for us; they create that demand in our minds, and they also bring the emotional aspect into their product to get us to take that very last step towards purchasing what they want to sell.
With all of these strategies, I admit that I do become quite susceptible to a number of advertising strategies. The greatest sign of the fact for me is that on a number of different occasions, I find myself spending money on things that I can do without. So had there not been that one advertisement or the other, the thought of getting the product would have never occurred to me. What really works for me is when they give you that feeling of experiencing the product in the advertisement itself.
I remembered one ad whereas a bottle of Coca-cola is opened, the sound of the gas coming out, and of the beverage bubbling and chilled did a great job at drawing the customer in. In the scorching heat of summer, that advertisement made me want to run to the nearest store to get myself a bottle of that Coke. Then there is the ad for ice cream; the way they zoom all the way in when scooping up that colorful portion of happiness, no person can resist the craving.
So what all of these feelings make me think is that if I am influenced, the strategy is quite effective. So marketing and sales campaigns can be used quite effectively to address the public, not just for the sale of any product, rather it could be used for a much wider purpose. The customer needs convincing and marketing strategies are the best tool out there.
