My Personal Views On Writing Research Paper Examples

With all the strictly mechanical procedures, I use my laptop computer and Microsoft Office for all of my writing projects, although I am a slow typist. I just find it much easier to use a word processor to edit and revise all my papers and to correct grammar and spelling errors. I often take notes by hand and then put them on the computer, but my handwriting has always been very poor. This is especially important when I have to use various sources that must be footnoted, and when I look these up on the Internet I write them down on regular college-ruled notepaper before typing them into the computer. I also have MLA and APA-style templates with all the correct margins and double-spacing saved in my Documents section, so I do not have to keep creating those every time I write a new paper.
As my metal procedures and processes, I am a terrible procrastinator and tend to be easily distracted by other activities on TV or the Internet, such as watching movies, listening to music, blogging or playing around on Tumblr, Facebook and other social media. I enjoy writing on those sites because they are subjects that interest me rather than some type of assignment which I am required to complete. Therefore I tend to push right up against deadlines, although I often do bits and pieces of writing assignments before my attention is drawn to something more interesting. When it comes to writing drafts, I incorporate all the notes from the sources I already gathered in my research, unless of course the paper requires no footnotes, sources and bibliography, in which case I will just start writing it freeform. That is how I am writing this paper, in fact, just putting down all the answers to the questions without using any notes. I do all of this by myself, though, and never exchange ideas or drafts with friends. When it comes to writing, I am strictly a loner.
As I mentioned, I do like to write blogs and comments on Internet websites that interest me, and these can be on a wide variety of subjects, from news and current events to history, movies, films and personal experiences. When it comes to topics that I am required to finish, I have to admit that I enjoy them much less. I prefer it when we are just given certain subjects to write about, with a certain number of words or pages and how many sources I am supposed to use. It is difficult to say how much time I am willing to put into any paper because they are all different and the time required will always vary.
I do not have any real problems with grammar, punctuation, spelling and organization when it comes to writing papers, although I find that I am not particularly creative or imaginative when coming up with new ideas. I doubt very much that I would ever be a good fiction writer who had to develop my own plots, characters and themes, although I can write well enough about the works of others. I know enough to write introductory and concluding paragraphs, as well as three, four or five paragraphs in the main body, even though I may not stick exactly to a strict thesis with topic sentences, but meander around quite a bit. I tend to dislike papers all the more when they are too rigidly structured and formatted, like something copied from a textbook. I have been criticized for this in the past by those who really insist on an exact thesis and having body paragraphs that follow directly from it, since I prefer to have a little more freedom than that.
