My Relationship With The Idea Of “Responsibility” Essay Sample

In life, all human beings have a duty to act responsibly towards their fellow human beings and their environment. Everyone has to take up a duty of ensuring they leave the world a better place for future generations. And that calls for individuals to take up their moral responsibilities and do what is right at all times. I have learned that I am expected to be responsible and take up my moral responsibility and base my actions on what is stipulated by society as what is morally right and acceptable. It is for that reason that I always try to be trustworthy and reliable at all times.
I have appreciated how important it is for me to be reliable and trustworthy to others at all times. There are times in life when I seek the help of those who are close to me, my friends and family, but I sometimes find them unavailable or not understanding me. That makes me lose my confidence in them and end up dealing with my problems by myself. Sometimes it is not about me but about those people I care for, and I feel let down when someone who could have helped others is not ready to help. It is for that reason that I fee lit is my duty and responsibility to help anyone who reaches out to me. I feel responsible for their happiness and peace of mind because that is what makes me happy.
Most of the time I receive calls to go out to help if I have the time to but even when I do not have the time I sacrifice my comfort for other people. At my local church, I am always called upon to go out for outreach ministries such as children’s homes, hospitals and the homes of the elderly. There are countless times when I reach out to the homeless, buy them food or offer them my warm clothing on cold winter nights. I feel as though it is my social responsibility to help anyone in need because that makes those I help happy. It turns out to be a little sacrifice from me but then I feel happy and satisfied when I see another person happy out of my simple acts of humility and sacrifice. It is not that I have so much at my disposal; just like any other human being I lack but then I am better of sharing the little that I have just to put a smile on another person’s face.
I receive a lot of motivation from renowned selfless figures such as the Dalai Lama and Aga Khan, but more importantly, Mother Teresa inspires me a lot. I do not need a world stage or a lot of money and resources to help. I believe that I should not feed one hundred people for me to feel good about my philanthropy because even one is enough. There are several things that I take seriously, and one of them is being a good role model to those around me. There are a lot of lessons others can learn from my actions. If I leave a positive impact on their minds and hearts, then that will make me happy. There are many elderly men and women in the homes for the elderly who only need a person to listen to them and gout to visit them. I care about being humble and trustworthy; that will go a long way into touching the human heart.
