The concept of Nationalism is associated to the modern state and its roots are somehow rooted to the French revolution of the year 1789. John Stuart Mill who talks about the nationalism in his book Representative Government, he says ”It is, in general, a necessary condition of free institutions that the boundaries of government should coincide in the main with those of nationality.”
The National Socialism movement represented a new form of nationalism. Another movement was pan Germanic movement which made awareness among the Germans about the nationalism. Otto von Bismarck played very important role in the unification of the Germany ABC.
Young Italy was a famous nationalist movement of the Italy in the leadership of Giuseppe Mazzini. Here are some examples of the famous people who played important roles in several nationalist movements
In document 1, it has been said by Camilio Cavour that through self determination, the Italian people can achieve the goal of throwing the foreigners from the land of the Italy. Camilio Cavour was very eager to see the unification of the Italy and he was making all the Italians aware for this purpose.
In document 2, it has been urged by Giuseppe Garibaldi from the soldiers and youths of the Italy for liberating their motherland from the invaders and to make Italy a unified and poerefull country. Garibaldi was a brave lieutenant who played very important role in the unification of the Italy and added the young people with this nationalist movement.
In document3, Camilio Cavour talks about the reciprocated differences among the Italian nationalists and Italian people which is causing a division among them and not letting them unite to fight against the enemies of the country and to boost their efforts towards unification of the Italy.
