Insensitive and uncomfortable metropolis, a concrete jungle, decorated with whole strings of yellow cabs, standing in huge traffic jams, - the list goes on There is an opinion that New York is only great place to earn money, whereas California and the beaches of Florida are better for relaxation. However, the magic of the megacities - and New York is no exception is the brightest representative of this caste - in something else. Best place for entertainment, the best clubs in the world, the spirit of urban merriment - this will not be found in any resorts.
In today's world, for most of its inhabitants it is not a secret what a nightclub is. This is a place where people come to have fun and relax. The people who attend nightclubs are in the range from young girls and boys to the mature women and men. However, the specific reasons to visit these institutions are different. Most often young men, come to get acquainted with a girl or a woman and start up a relationship, or simply hang out with friends. However, why girls attend is a little more complicated. After all, as it is strange, most of the visitors are girls (James).
First, the vast majority of girls attending are lonely, and we can safely assume that their main purpose is a search for a potential partner or boyfriend. However, would it be for a long time or not, is determined by their relationship. Some are looking to flirt, others come only not to remain in isolation and to socialize, while others still are in search of a long-term relationship. Although many women are aware, that it is problematic enough to find a stable relationship in the nightclubs.
Secondly, there is a type of girls who come to the clubs to show off. The search of a potential partner is secondary, as their primary cause is to draw attention to themselves. As a rule, these girls opt for a quite attractive outfit, which is not necessarily challenging. Every girl knows how to present herself and draw attention to themselves. In other words, they just want to satisfy and improve their self-esteem or self-assertion. Although, of course, there are exceptions, some simply have not yet learned all the details of and slightly overdo with makeup or clothing that usually triggers unwanted admirers. Most often, these girls come in the company of friends and each of them is trying to show off more than others.
Thirdly, there is quite small category of girls who go to nightclubs, just for the fact to spend time with friends (though it is a rare occasions). Most often, their main objectives are dancing, distraction from work and problems, and just to have fun, participate in an activity, which is not related to the search for a boyfriend or showing off.
Naturally, people are very individual, and even more so, the female half is so unpredictable and mysterious. Sometimes they do not know what they want and cannot predict their actions.
So what may interested New York's most inveterate party-goers? To find out, we enlisted the help of regular guests of elite clubs in Moscow, has repeatedly happened in the "Big Apple".
New York is famous for its Pacha NY, Home, Studio 54. However, the most prominent and oldest is the Webster Hall. It is a huge entertainment center located in the heart of East Village area, with six separate seating areas, the best concert venue in New York, the coolest and most stylish Djs and lighting (Owen). This place is like no other, which is proved by the original theatrical like entrance. Inside the atmosphere is no less striking. Huge spacious foyer with multiple doors leading into the corners of the club paradise. It plays music for all tastes. The great hall is the ancestor and predecessor of all the dance floors of New York - a fantastic scene with colorful lights and a giant disco ball on the ceiling.
The five unique rooms can offer you entertainment not only in the sphere of fashionable music from the best Dj, but also go-go dancers, magicians, fortune tellers and tarot-gymnasts under the dome. This club is the largest and oldest in New York. Madonna, Mick Jagger and a ton of other celebrities came here to relax, dance, sing and perform. Even the weary and jaded clubbers will find something to be surprised with. For example, in the Duvet, which is a large room decorated like a bedroom, has huge beds with duvets on its perimeter, whereas the bar here is made of ice.
Fashion and Dress
Fashion. Always changeable, sometimes too modest and prudish, and sometimes defiantly catchy. It cares about its followers and admirers with nothing less but as a loving and gentle mother her tiny newborn. Dozens of styles were created in favor of extravagant, extraordinary and individual vogue. This diversity, mixing, separation and regeneration creates bright, unconventional and evocative images, including one of the most isolated and wonderful subcultures o the clubber style of clothing.
The distinctive features and characteristics of this complex, a little crazy and incomprehensible for many style, thanks to which it has received such ubiquity is the unobtrusive, easy, unexpected and highly intimate fashion. Here there are no laws, rules or traditions. There are no frames or restrictions. This approach is based on the choice of their own, unique, unrepeatable and catchy image, which allows each clubber to somehow not fit the contrived tendencies of supposedly unifying the society, and take into account only the personal interests, tastes and wishes.
As with anything else in the world, club fashion, too, had its own beginning. Rather, a period in time, during which originated the concept of "club style". Of course, the exact date of birth is difficult to name, but with a greater or lesser degree of certainty it can be quite hard to argue that the club fashion appeared in the 60s of the 20th century.
It was then that clothes began to acquire a certain symbolism, meaning "class" and membership, creating a sense of belonging. Then a certain type of dress became associated with the then isolated “Clubber” culture of the society. With the development of club culture clothing has become the most obvious sign of belonging to it. The club culture history recalls the times of dandyism with its specific appearance code, designed to the smallest details, periods of indiscriminate "hippyishness" with colored glasses, bright acidic colors and shoes on a high platform. The modern club style dates back to the 60s of the previous century referring to the films "Startrek", "Barbarella", "Superman". Using plastic, vinyl and rubber clothing, tight costumes and a huge platform aimed to depict the interiors of space stations: all this was due to the enthusiasm of creating a space-theme in the life of clubbers. All these styles were manifestations to escape from everyday life. Then the costumes started to resemble "outfits" of alien travelers, to which greatly contributed the cult film for all ages, times, countries and peoples. "Star Wars" made quite a significant contribution to the club fashion, filling dance floors with "party-goers" covered in rubber, vinyl and lycra. The "hit" of that period were plastic accessories and fabrics with reflective effect.
Clothing associated with the dance culture, attracted the attention of the world's leading designers such as Donna Karan, Calvin Klein and Tom Ford (Gucci house). In their collections they turned to the elastic fabric with metallic thread, tight silhouettes, asymmetry. The label "Red or Dead" released a collection of "Cyberpunk" dedicated to the "breakthrough" in virtual reality. People clad in the "Space" clothing kept popping up in commercials and magazines. The world of fashion club looms ever closer to real life. Fashion trends of the 80's could not but affect nightclubs. While clubs began to change its format, Friday night and Saturday were the days when the argest number of people come in the greatest number of visitors. Sometimes, nightclubs do theme parties in the middle of the working week in order to attract more visitors to this day. It is said that during this historical period, there are nightclubs in which they play only certain music.
Club Kids
New York. Late 80's - early 90's was suddenly drowned in sequins, boas and cosmic glitter bits. A crowd of people, strangely dressed kids amounting to a hundred, had fun walking around the metro transition, and crazy music looming from a boom box, was like a cloud covering them, following on the heels. Their own musical cloud. Who is the boy who is a girl - cannot be distinguished at first sight, but they definitely look defiant. For example, the one dead bride in a white shroud and gory rouged mouth is not a lady. They call him Mr. James St. James, and he is one of the founders of today's performance art. The chief agrees to chat, but the leader, has an absurd crown glued cardboard, face sprinkled with glittery stars, and a homemade tape suit of a king falling apart on the go. His name is Michael Alig, and he knows what the minds of these perveted they want these young minds are perverted (Perrone).
Club kids have become infamous due to their provocative costumes and drug pariesy. They loved heroin, ketamine and ecstasy, as well as the popular club and trance music. They themselves were making a costume, make-up and come up with images, and all their lifestyle trying to erase the boundaries between reality and fantasy.
Michael Alig was a popular in those years club promoter, who quickly became the idol of youth. He became famous in that he first came up with the so-called "theme parties", whose ideas are now actively borrowed our days. The parties, which he organized with his friend St. James, have been to the taste of young people wanting to get away from the boring real world full of responsibilities. After all, here they were promised endless joy and total freedom from the complexes. Being a freak is fun! It is natural for everyone! What do you feel, really? Who you are? Where are you? Down with the masks and adult invented restraints until your soul is not completely stiff! If you've got the hump put some glitter on it and go dancing, dammit!
That was the motto of the crazy clubbers. "Club kids" as they called themselves, repeatedly had conflicts with the police and other "respectable" strata of society, which was very ambivalent about such a manifestation of self-realization of youth. Additional excitement arise from the fact that the parties instead of the club facilities were frequently moved into the underground passages, donut shops and McDonald's, which, of course, hindered the usual lifestyle of the regular people.
Nonetheless, all sorts of problems with the law, did not prevent the "kiddies" to come to several talk shows such as Geraldo and Joan Rivers Show in their funky and futuristic clothes.
Marquee Club
This club located in New York, is another “elite, exclusive, posh style” club where people mostly go to meet new people. Over the weekend, almost 2000 people attend the club. Of course first they have to wait in the queue for almost two hours prior to being left standing outside. And it does not matter if it is hot or freezing, the girls in their high-heeled shoes and tight body-fit “armor”, with a ton of makeup on their faces are also not being allowed in, even if they do have the ticket. This is due to the fact that in an attempt to uphold its exclusive status the administration of the club provides some people with a VIP pass, which the bodyguards at the entrance must adhere to and let them in. Generally speaking these “tough guys” tend to be really pleasant and talkative. However, having waiting for somewhat over an hours coming close to two (these are the general waiting hours) the people are admitted for a price ranging from $40 to $50. Most important – they haven’t even started the evening and already they are paying such a significant price for entry. Once in they are forced to get to a coat checker (if it is winter or colder part of the season) which costs $8 dollars. Most importantly, is that the woman there, doesn’t seem to care and keep telling everyone she does not have the change. Therefore people a forced in looking for some small change in their pocket, get frustrated and leave her the change.
The majority of the people are of course women with the statistical data in the range of 65% female and 35% male. This place is mostly attended by lonely women who come to relax and are in search of new acquaintances. This does not necessarily mean that she want to find someone for a relationship. Nonetheless, they dress in flashy short, quite often black dresses, which tightly press around their body showing off all the curves. However, this is not the most important for a woman here. Such woman of model appearance, tend to behave as if the world belongs to them. Look at the rest from above. This behavior attracts the drunk men of which there are plenty in the club.
And quite often leads to grave results. Sometimes women are assaulted because of their appearance. Such events of course are then found on Youtube and in Instagram with a lot of comments, likes and what not. However, the bottom line here is that the women, when dressing to a club, must consider that there will be a lot of drunk non-adequate men, who will try to follow their natural instincts simply because a sexy looking woman just passed them (Yelp.com). This is psychology and life evolution. Men will do almost anything to “own” the woman when they are in a state of alcohol abuse.
Others though, opt for a more pleasant way, and go for pick up, trying to talk the girl they are striking for to first a chat, then conversation, drink, and who knows how the night will end. Though in order to impress a woman they too have to dress accordingly. Clothes have always played the role of an indicator and a helpful guide to both men and women of what sort of person is the object of their observation. Clothes are the determiner and the marker which people use as a social guide in order to determine on whether the relationship with the admirer be considered or not.
Cub fashion is a relatively new tem. It appeared only in the middle of the previous century. Nonetheless today it is frequently used among people to determine which social group they belong to and what they really lie to do. N fact is quite obvious if a girl or guy walk out of a night club a 5 in the morning wearing some short dress or jeans with e T-Shirt Each period of club development had it own fashion. Hippies, “Aliens”, shocking “Club Kids” style, what have we not seen, however, people quite often surprise us even more than we are used to. Our clothes style also determines who we are. A woman can behave one way, or another depending on the situation and her aim in getting aboard. Open tops, open backs, short length minis, black dresses see through tops, aggressive make up, tons of correcting make up. Behind all this we do not see how real is the girl. In truth we do not need to, because we noticed her with all this on and thus, have been searching for just the girl. Of course the behavior or the person can also tell much about him / her. Clothes can actually do it much better.
