The term Sociology refers to methodical study of the relationship of an individual and the society. In order to study the social behavior, sociologists study different kinds of behavior and rely on various imaginations. This paper discusses several aspects related to the study of the sociology and different phases of development related to the subject.
A huge range of theories have been developed by Sociologists to describe and elucidate the array of social behavior. Here we will discuss two questions asked by the sociologists and the first question is How Is Social Order Maintained. The issue in the question is related to maintaining the social order. To maintain a social order, it is important to adopt some rule and regulations. Auguste Comte advocates for the formulae which was applied by the scientists in the nature. He also suggests a science of the society to maintain a social order and the science he talks about is the laws of the society. Comte says that knowledge of these laws will help the people in developing an understanding of ‘social statics’ which makes the societies in holding together and maintaining the order. Another aspect of knowing these laws as Comte says is the understanding of social dynamics which is responsible for bringing the changes in the society in addition to ascertaining the nature of that change.
The next question we are going to discuss is How Does Interaction Shape Our Worlds. The issue of the question is social interactions and their impact on our personal and social life. Sociologists have tried to find out the result and significance of social interactions. They have conducted several studies to know the results of everyday interaction. The basic theme of the study of Sociologists is an effort to know how we see and think about others and what they see and think about us.
Applied sociology represents the employ of sociology with definite purpose of yielding practical functions for human behavior as well as for the organizations. Example: study the connections between the use of illegal drug and broadening of AIDS. On the other hand clinical sociology is devoted to smoothing the progress of change by varying organizations or reformation of social institutions.
The problem in the given case is; what are the chances for marriage being successful of those couples who live together before marriage. Based on some research studies carried out on the subject mention that, couples who live together before marriage have higher chances of marriage termination.
In the developed hypothesis success of marriage and living together before marriages are two variables in the study. Success of marriage is a dependent variable whereas living together is independent variable. After finalization of hypothesis and variables, there is a need to verify establish hypothesis with the help of data and information. The data can be gathered in quantitative and qualitative forms.
In the given case the best suitable method to collect data is survey. Couples who are married or divorced or separated; were living together before marriage are the eligible respondents for the study. Another method for data collection is use of existing data. Some existing reports and data based on the subject will provide a deep insight and information required to validate the hypothesis established for the study.
After data collection the next step is data analysis. Quantitative and qualitative data analyzed separately. Based on the findings of research data, the conclusion is made.
