Therefore, a love triangle establishes between the Nazi villain, the woman and a federal agent. Hitchcock has used these characters to bring out these elements of espionage and romance.
The director has also used other cinematic elements apart from dialog and the storyline to bring out the elements of suspense in the film. Some of the elements used in developing suspense include camera angles, using objects and motifs as well as using the contrast between the light and the dark. In the film, the most obvious form of suspense can be identified with the coffee cup that has been poisoned. This is seen as the film is coming to an end.
