It considers the case of a person Eloise Gelinas who is a retired nurse and manages her diseases through the services of a local drug store where the pharmacist assists her in medication and also education with regards to her diseases. The article observes that it is not the individual case, but across the nation, the pharmacists are working with doctors and nurses to provide patient care.
Natasha Singer in her article observes that thirty years ago pharmacy schools used to teach only how to dispense drugs and medicines, while modern day pharmacy schools have changed in their education paradigm. Pharmacists have now knowledge about prescription medicine and also basic procedures to check blood pressure, asthma, flu shots and tests (Article 5)(Singer).
Article 6 by Paul Ziobro is a business article published in Wall Street Journal which highlighted an unusual partnership of healthcare company and a chain of pharmacy and clinics. The company CVS Health Corp. is going to buy Target Pharmacy stores for a whopping $1.9bn (Ziobro).
Article 7 is an article from the journal American Association of colleges of pharmacy that discusses the expanding role of pharmacists in patient-centric medical homes. The article highlights the collaborative roles of pharmacists in drug therapy management, health technology information research and giving personalized medicines (Aacp.org).

Any article published in NYT could have the potentially large impact because of the extent of its reach. An article being published in NYT could be considered to be big and real news worthy of being circulated to such a large audience.
The Wall Street Journal is a business-oriented international newspaper based out of New York City. WSJ is the largest newspaper surpassing NYT in terms of circulation. Any article being published in WSJ can be considered to have great business value along with the possibility of reaching to millions of subscriber. Many times articles published in WSJ are considered to have an impact on the stock market as well.

Hegby in this book addresses the societal role of pharmacists and their professional career. He observed that pharmacists till late 20th century had not been considered as professional and were more akin to salespersons or store clerks. It is only in the middle of the 21st century that pharmacy was considered as full-fledged practices with licenses and professional accreditation. The paradigm shifts of the pharmacists’ profession started in the late 1970s, starting what is known as clinical pharmacy era making the social acceptance of pharmacists as professionals. In this professional socialization of pharmacists, new roles and responsibilities were considered. A modern day pharmacist works along with nurses and doctors to provide healthcare services along with prescription drugs to patients. Socialization is the adoption of any newcomer in a particular workplace likewise socialization of pharmacist is the acceptance of this practice into the society. The pharmacists’ field has grabbed the attention of leaders and educators who are working to inculcate values of professionalism and caring for pharmacy students (Higby 109-119).

As a pharmacist I have been trained along with traditional pharmacy skills into more specific healthcare practices like administering drug therapies, providing disease specific tests and educating patients. As a pharmacist, I play a very specific role in the development of new age healthcare practices like medical homes. I am very much responsible and help patients of critical ailments with their treatment processes on the daily basis. Not only I help them in taking their medicines but also in educating them on how to take medication, forming the schedule for the day or the week and providing guidance.

I can achieve my personal and professional tools with the help of the specially designed programs of NSU. The facilities, classrooms, and professors are exceptional and of high quality, thereby providing a very ample environment of learning and growth.

NSU COP’s professional socialization process consists of the social development of pharmacy students which is integrated into various academic courses. The on-campus community pharmacy enables students to take up and learn role playing and also learn from observation, trial, and error, modeling and instructions. However, this process of COP could be improved by introducing some more specific courses or seminar and lecture series that could help students understand the professional socialization process. The societal expectations from a pharmacist, new age pharmacist's roles in delivering health care and job roles in conjunction with nurses and doctors must be described in separate modules for an effective impact of professional socialization roles on pharmacy students.
