What future research need are identified at this site?
In relation to lung cancer, the site explores several aspects that have remained uncovered by research. On one hand, there is notable evidence from the site that smoking has over time been regarded and still remains a significant marker for lung cancer. It is therefore important that all interventions that are designed to manage lung cancer are designed in such a way that they take into consideration the impact of smoking. However, a key resource and focus for future research as identified in this site is the need to augment smoking cessation programs at community level with screening programs to help identify the early cases of chronic respiratory illnesses and manage them before they progress to severity.

What are three resources available to nurses in doing research?
Research grants
Continued nurse education online
E-Repository such as The Henderson Repository
Why was GAPFON convened?
The GAPFON was convened to act as a catalyst for all nurse leaders to come together and work towards advancing global health.
What is the purpose of this group?
The group GAPFON purposely works to network nurses so that they can actively work towards a common goal while sharing knowledge and resources.
How can you join?
Why might this be professionally beneficial?
As an organization that networks persons or professionals, it affords nurses and opportunity to explore the opportunities beyond the borders and share information and knowledge that they can use to advance care within their locations. It also opens up opportunities for research collaboration and thus opening up opportunities for nurses to be heard a global level even when in remote locations.
