Thesis statement
THESIS STATEMENT: World over there has been a shift in the health problems that face the human populations. With advancements in the medical research, most infectious diseases are now treatable (Carter, 2007). Advancement in food technology has also seen a shift from the traditional foods to more refined foods. It has resulted in an increase of dietary associated conditions such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity. Consumption of foods with high refined sugar levels has been proven to be the most significant cause of obesity(Brehm-Curtis, 2014).Children are exposed to beverages and snacks that have high sugar levels. This paper, therefore, seeks to establish the effects of intake of a high sugar diet and occurrences of obesity among school going children.
HOMELESSNESS
THESIS STATEMENT: The society has undergone a lot of transformation from the time of industrial and agricultural revolutions that saw populations migrate from the countryside into the cities for employment in the industries. Currently, more than 50% of the populace lives in cities (Maluccio et al., 2002).Economic disenfranchising of some sectors of the society has led to poverty. Some poor people in the cities find themselves when they cannot afford housing and are hence are left with no worthy alternative but to live on the streets. Such families are referred to as homeless families (Gloria and White 2008).These families have children of school going age and research has shown that these children face many challenges in their pursuit of education. This paper seeks to establish the impact that being homeless has on the academic performance of the school going children in the state of Arizona.
PRIVACY IN THE SOCIAL MEDIA
THESIS STATEMENT: Communication technology has undergone tremendous advancements from the discovery of the telephone to the internet that today forms the major communication medium. Internet has formed a cheap and fast medium for sharing a lot of documents online and has added a personal touch to communication as people can also share videos and pictures. For adults that are more cautious, internet provides an exciting communication pathway, however for younger children who still have poor judgment and trust naively the lack of privacy while communicating online poses a great security threat (O'Toole,2010 ).Children world over have been harmed by people that they met through friendly chats on the social media. This paper, therefore, seeks to establish a link between lack of privacy and internet insecurity for children using online services on social media in the state of California.
