The first part of the film discusses the biology of human race variations. The section of the film illuminates the differences that exist between individuals are only based on the skin and the genetic code for humans is similar (Vidal 1). The main argument of the video is that there is not a sole gene that can exclusively define race.
The section should be discussed as there is a misconception of race and biological set ups that cause a difference among individuals. Misconceptions on genetic variations should be done away with and the truth illustrated on the issue that surrounds race and the biological set up. Any relationships are clearly illustrated and all variables put into consideration as further research has been done on topic.
The section explains the story behind race and the evolution of a racial society that lead to inequality in the USA. Race variations in society have caused constructs that are dependent on the notions built on race differences and are caused for political and economic gain (Vidal 1). The film indicates the ideology behind race. Human equality was important on the declaration of independence as black were considered to be inferior persons.
The part should be discussed due to its importance in understanding the history of America and the ideology behind race. It is important to understand that the matter of race was conceptualized from an issue of economic and political standpoint. The origins of race must be clearly understood to help curb the inferiority complex that is associated with different races.
In the last section race is defined as an illusion through a biologists, anthropologist, historians and sociologist’s views (Vidal 1). A predominant race is considered based on the level of civilization. Racial inequality has been enforced through institutions and perceptions in society. Fitting into the society is an area of concern as racial markers are used to define and segregate individuals.
The sections should be analyzed as it provides credible information on the illusion of race. Inequalities can be reduced through an assessment of the matter of race as inferior races have been subjected to poor pay and unequal opportunities. There is a general perception of different races especially from a white man’s perspective. Society has been stratified in more racial sections.
