Operational challenges facing LinkedIn Company
As the largest professional network, LinkedIn faces an ever-increasing number of users of the largest professional network LinkedIn. This has been coupled by a massive challenge facing the company in terms of data management. This paper therefore addresses the operational challenges, concerns and problems facing the LinkedIn Company especially on the data aspect.
Firstly, due to the influx of users, insecurity is a major challenge for all the users due to the increasing cases of cybercrimes. The huge data of the users makes it a big challenge for the company to provide adequate security to every user and to present a quicker response for any security threat for the individual users.
Secondly, LinkedIn faces a challenge of quality control. This happens due to the large amount of data that the company has to manage. In which case, building maintainable and quality codes that can adequately serve millions and millions of multiple users often are a big challenge for the company (Osagie, 2014).
Thirdly, also due to the large amounts of data, the system faces a problem of always debugging; this therefore makes it quite a challenge to lookout and continually fix the logical errors and to constantly debug the infinite loops or the so called divide by zero bugs always in the codes (Osagie, 2014).
Also due to the diversity of the users, data redundancy, improper planning and lack of proper organization for the customer’s data is a big operational challenge for the company. It is therefore quite hard to track out proper data for all the users who are subscribed to the network.
In conclusion, due to the aforementioned challenges that affect the company’s business, it is proper for the company to continually improve their systems. This would involve putting up strategies for constant innovation to enhance provision of quality services, improve on the profit margins.
