I believe that Orfeo Negro is one of such movies that should be definitely watched by everyone who is interested in the Brazilian culture. The reason for this is its unforgettable and captivating atmosphere created by the carnival in Rio de Janeiro, which serves as a setting for the events that take place in the movie. The way these events are connected with the carnival deserves special attention.
First of all, it is necessary to state that the script and its end in particular are known almost to everyone, because it is a classic Greek story of Orpheus and Eurydice. But in the case of this movie this script is closely interconnected with the Brazilian fair. The music, way of movie editing – all of this contributed to forming the general impression about it. If it weren’t for such artistic methods and tools used, the movie would have been boring and useless. But owing to the Brazilian culture, which is skillfully shown in it, the film turns into a masterpiece.
The movie allows people to see how many different feelings can be manifested in the atmosphere of the carnival. It is not common for people of other culture to be a part of such major events, which is why it is especially important to show them its unique spirit as if they were participating in the fair personally. I believe that after watching this film, it is impossible to leave indifferent to the Brazilian culture. The majority of people fall in love with this atmosphere and country, the others can experience different feelings, but there are no people who feel nothing after the movie, and I am glad that it is so. It proves ones more that Brazilian culture is interesting and unforgettable for people.
