In my organization, change should be adopted in order to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the operations. This will help in maximization of profits the wealth of the shareholders. Change is the alteration of the status quo and it is something that is inevitable in any organization.
Human Resource Department
The human resource department is a very critical department in any organization, which looks at the employee’s welfare. As the Chief Executive Officer, I would propose that the human resource department should embrace the new technology and merge the embrace the emerging policies concerning the labor laws (Abrams, 2012).
The modern human resource department must embrace the ideas of all the workers. There should be workers forum, which allows them to raise their issues and give proposals on how to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the organization and attain the highest of services. The workers must also be motivated to workers through incentives, promotions, and allowing them to own part of the company. Workers also should be hired and placed according their skills, experiences, and special interests or talents.
Another change that is important in human resource department is ensuring that people who uphold ethical principles are hired into office. Reforms must target at vetting thee human resource managers to ensure that only those who uphold ethical principles of their profession are retained. The organization must respect the rights of workers for instance, during retrenchment they should be informed through formal writing (Abrams, 2012).
Other changes which may boost services of human resource department includes having staff portal for easy payment and payroll management, allowing staff to join labor unions of their choice, allowing staff to form associations, establishing a counseling and care unit to deal with workers who need special attention and counseling. It is also to embrace workforce diversity which is an emerging trend in most organizations by appreciating worker’s differences.
Finance department
In the context of finance and accounting of my organization, I will put the controls in place in place to ensure proper financial reporting which is in respect of the international financial reporting standards and all ethical standards that govern the accountability of the funds of an organization. This will enable my organization to ensure efficient use of the resources of an organization in order to maximize profit as well as wealth of the shareholders. This will also promote accountability and transparency in the organization (Aaker, 2011).
The operations of finance and accounting in my organization should be computerized such that the input of records and all information can be traced as well as issuing of receipts in order to ensure that the track is traceable. The records should be arranged systematically to ensure that procedures of auditing can be conducted in an efficient and effective manner. The financial records will better in the databases that ensure regular generation of reports, which are useful in meeting the short-term financial goals as well measuring the performance of the organization in stages (Aaker, 2011).
The financial plan of my organization should target the listing in the capital market authorities in order to attract international investors. This will boost the financial capital of my company, which will help in expansion and diversification into many markets. The share base of my company will therefore increase which implies an expansion in the capital base.The auditing and assurance services of y organization should be done in compliance with the international standards on auditing in order to ensure proper conduct of the work in an organization.
Marketing
Marketing forms an integral component of any business organization. As a company’s chief executive officer, it is inevitable to have a highly efficient marketing plan so as to achieve general business success. Effective business plan can only be developed through the development of workable marketing strategies, realistic goals and objectives of the entire business department.
Marketing plan helps with providing a company with a set of framework and guidelines that aims at increasing the company’s turnover through increased sales. This entails coming up with strategies that enhances the competitive edge of a company thus increasing its market share. As a member of the executive board, I will foster for the understanding that we are operating on a perfectly competitive market. Therefore, the rule of the jungle comes in handy, that is only the best succeeds.
Developing proper pricing strategies helps in increasing business viability. Moderately lower pricing of the company’s products or services as compared to those of its competitors will help in attracting all the various consumer groups. The strategy also helps in market penetration translating into a rapid increase of the market share. Product differentiation is a marketing strategy that aids the company’s products to reach all the various consumer groups. Products differentiation entails unique branding and diversification of a company’s products’ shelf. This enables the company to generate income from all the consumer groups, i.e both low, middle and upper income groups (Aaker, 2011).
Product promotion as a marketing strategy helps popularizing the company’s wide range of products and services among the consumers. This can take a number of ways, this includes;• Online advertising• Billboard advertising• Media advertising
All this aims at increasing customer awareness concerning the company’s range of products and services. The results of proper and efficient marketing will be manifested through a larger market share acquisition and thus increased turnovers (Abrams, 2012).
Purchase and Supplies department
There should be a procedure in conducting the general tendering and purchase process to save on any miscellaneous costs thus enhancing efficiency. Information communication technology should be used in the general record keeping such that any anomaly in the purchasing system can be identified and corrected immediately. Information Communication Technology applications in documentation will be high priority change to impact perfect accountability in purchasing and supply management.
The manager should be making orders for purchases as early as possible to avoid the last minute rush, which is known to cause inconveniences and delay in the organizations daily business. Inputs supply efficiency should be of paramount concern to keep the organizations business running. In addition, with large market share the organization should have the inputs market power to influence prices of general purchases supplied to the company.
Maintenance of company social responsibility
The general social responsibility of the company or the organization should be up hold such that the company is involved in the communities’ activities. The company should bind with rules and regulations of the social implied contract between it and the community in its setting. The company should supply the required goods and services so as to ensure customer satisfaction; this is done through after sale services. To the employees the company should ensure good salaries and remuneration and also ensuring that they participate in decisions concerning their welfare.
Above all the company should operate its business while maintaining a clean and conducive environment for all. The company should minimize on pollution and other environmental degrading activities (Abrams, 2012).
