Introduction
McDonalds refers to a larger fast food restaurant with branches all over the globe. Its’ success in the fast food industry serves as a big motivator for goal-oriented people. This simply means that conducting an interview with the manager would answer and clears thoughts on how this organization is making its way through the market successfully.
It is a big opportunity to interact with the manager and getting to explore the strategies applied in the entire management of the company. The manager is the person mandate to make the policies and mange the company thus defining the rationale for conducting the interview.
The manager is a person who has strived and perceiver for a long period in order to achieve the highest level in MacDonald Company. He started his journey of success as a regular administrator in a local organization in the city. The manager was motivated by the fact that he was able to manage a small number of staff and achieves the organization goals and objectives. He therefore seeks for employment in other big and reputable companies within the country and eventually landing himself at McDonald Company. His managerial skills are the major factor that contributed to the current position of McDonald Company (Drucker, p.16 2008). It is clear that for a manager to be effective in his or her management process he or she is required to formulate a strategic plan on how operations should be conducted. This is by delegating duties amongst the staffs in an organization according to their areas of specialization and implementing the employees’ appraisal theory. In the context on the decision-making process, a manager is mandated to coordinate the relevant bodies into reaching a common objective. It thus calls for involvement of all the three-management levels throughout the entire process (Lievens, 36 2008).
The interview sheds light on the importance of good governance in an organization and outlines that leadership is essential for effective and efficient management in any given business set up. In relation to the characteristic of a good leader covered in class, it is evident that the manager traits of leadership determine the level of discipline and a smooth communication channel from the top management to the lowest staff and vice versa.
The company also uses the employee performance to evaluate the progress of their activities, which is only exercised by a leader with strong and reliable skills. He or she should identify any loophole that might cause a collapse of the company and develop measures to curb its’ occurrence in the future. This is because for a business to outshine its’ competitors in the market share it has to ensure that most challenges are handled so as not to give the competitor a chance to cover more ground in terms of sales volumes (Hiriyappa,25 2009).
This interview is very fundamental in equipping a fresh mind with skills required in the management of an organization and determining whether it is among the best companies to invest with. It comprises of different strategic planning necessary and goes further to highlight a suitable way to establish good employer- employee relationship. During the interview, I learned that leadership and good governance should take first priority in determining the success of an organization. This would therefore become my first strategic plan in the company. It would build a good reputation for the companies hence earning a promotion, which is part of the steps to becoming the most successful manager or leaders.
