Communication
A description of the organization you have chosen and your relationship to it. This can be a workplace or an organization where you volunteer. (1-2 paragraphs)
The organization chosen for this course project is Coca-Cola. The Coca-Cola Company is the largest soft drink manufacturer globally with a presence in over 200 countries. Since the company was founded over a century ago in America, it has grown into one of the largest global organizations in terms of annual sales and profit. This multinational organization has a diverse culture that would be interesting the study. Diversity is an important part of organizational culture at Coca-Cola. This can be attributed to the fact that the company employs people from different cultural backgrounds.
The company is also engages in charity activities especially in developing countries. This further adds to the organizations diverse culture. My relationship to this organization is that I would love to work at the company in the future. Therefore, carrying out an ethnography study will provide an excellent opportunity to study the organization
A discussion of your goals for conducting a cultural analysis of the organization you have chosen and the potential value of such an analysis.
Secondary sources that will be used for the paper will mainly compose of peer review journal articles and books. For the books that will be used a background research will be carried out on the internet in order to determine the credibility of the author. The publisher of the book may provide such information. The credibility of the authors will be guaranteed for the peer review articles since the content of the article has been examined by professionals in the field.
A combination of two methods will be used to collect primary data for the study. The method that I intend to use for the ethnographic study is the use of interviews and qualitative surveys. This will involve developing a set of questions to be administered to a company representative. The developed questions will aim at determining the organization culture at the organization being studied.
