Different authors are describing this type of culture from the different perspectives creating a lot of definitions for organizational culture. “Basically, organizational culture is the personality of the organization” - says Carter McNamara in his work dedicated to the the organizational culture and ways of changing it (McNamara, 2000). Different types of organizations have a variety of cultures and the types cannot be mixed. Each type is characteristic for the particular type of organization. According to the Business Dictionary website organizational culture is “based on shared attitudes, beliefs, customs, and written and unwritten rules that have been developed over time and are considered valid” ("What is organizational culture? definition and meaning", n.d.).
As for my university, I can find a lot of examples of organizational culture. I should say it is standard for almost all universities as it is characteristic for educational institutions. The type of cloth that is allowed for university is a part of its culture. Some universities have uniform that differs among other uniforms and a student who is wearing it cannot be mixed with a student from another institution. My university does not have a uniform, but we have some norms and rules for the cloth that is suitable for classes, for special events and sport exercises.
Another example from my university is stable environment created by university that motivates students to study. We have libraries where you can stay after the classes to work on the home task, we have computers with Internet access and different types of database, books that are needed for the studies. That is also a part of organizational academy culture.
There are a lot of other examples but I think they can be found in the rest of universities, as they represent the basic culture elements of the education institutions.
