I agree with Waller’s sediments that an organization can ensure effectiveness by exercising autonomy, motivating its employees through recognition and focusing on the reason for their operation. First, it is important for the management of a company to exercise democracy in the workplace as a way of creating autonomy among the employees. Giving employees the autonomy to work is a source of motivation that allows them to take up their responsibilities without influence. It is the best way of enhancing creativity in the world place thus enhancing effectiveness. However, the management should have a little control on the autonomy given to its employees. Just as Waller argues, employees may either enhance their effectiveness or destroy it if given autonomy. The management can then prevent ineffectiveness of the employees by guiding and directing them in their responsibilities (Burrow & Kleindl, 2012).
Besides, it is important for the management to assist the employees to understand the reason as to why they need to conduct their work the way it stipulates. It is good to allow the employees to provide their views on what they believe in the job they perform. This is very vital in ensuring that the employees believe matches with the organization provisions thus enhancing the effectiveness of the employees. It is worth noting that such a match motivates the employees to deliver their best that promoting the success of the organization (Burrow & Kleindl, 2012).
Finally, I support the Waller’s idea that recognition of employees for good work they perform is key in fostering organizational effectiveness. Recognition may take the form of a bonus, outings and through good remarks. It acts as a motivator for employees in working hard towards attaining the goals of the organization with an aim of realizing rewards for their good work. Employee motivation is thus an important factor that promotes organizational success (Newton & Davis, 2014).
