Organizational leadership is a management tool used to enhance the welfare of employee as a group within the organization. It focuses on giving advice and guidance to the members of the organizations on the best ways of attaining the organizational plans. A good organizational leadership should be able to encourage and motivate employees to enhance their efficiency thus fostering the attainment of the laid goals (Munro, 2008).
Characteristics of organizational leadership
Good governance
A good organizational leadership needs to have outstanding principles and values that foster the degree of high ethical standards and compliance to the culture of the organization. It should focus on ensuring that all the members of the organization conform to the best business practices required by the law and the society.
Visionary
A good organizational leadership should have high aspirations at all the levels of the organization. It is worth noting that the leaders of the organization should be able to communicate the purpose and plans of the organization to the employees as a way of motivating them to work towards attaining that in future.
Good management
A good organizational leadership needs to have good plans to assist the employees in working towards the vision of the organization. Besides, it should foster control within the organization to ensure that the plans are realized. Furthermore, it should be able to organize and allocate resources well in the organization to foster efficiency.
Importance of strong leadership in change management
Strong leadership plays a great role in motivating the members of the organization towards enhancing efficiency within the organization. Besides, it encourages proper communication and collaboration within the organization. This is to mean that it encourages sharing of information among the members of the organization which directs them towards a common goal. Furthermore, it promotes control among the organizational resources something that plays a great role in fostering change management.
The senior leaders of the Coca-Cola Company include Muhtar Kent, who is the CEO, James Quincey, who is the operating president officer, Ahmet Bozer the vice president, Marcos Quinto, the chief managing officer among many others.
Strengths and weaknesses of the Leaders
These leaders have various strengths that have led to efficiency and effectiveness in their leadership. This includes hard working, respectful, honesty, problem solvers, effective communicators and democratic among many others. On the other hand, the leaders have weaknesses such as being very strict and work a lot.
Organizational vision
The vision of the company entails working hard to attain sustainability and quality growth of the organization. The organizational leadership is geared towards the realization of the mission and vision statement of the company. This is shown by the leaders focus on promoting team working within the company which shows that the employees of the organization are ready to work together towards the common goal. Besides, the leadership also has created an environment whereby the employees can air out their views and participate in making the decisions of the organization. This is a motivation that encourages the employees to work in line with the mission and vision statement of the organization.
In this organization, I can assume the role of the head of the accounting department of the organization. It is worth noting that given a chance to be in that role, I would be one among the leaders in change management of the organization. The world environment is ever changing thus putting a lot of pressure on the leadership roles. This impels the leaders to adopt the new changes taking place in the business world as a way of enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in the leadership roles. Failure to take part in the leadership change management would affect the growth and development of the organization negatively (Munro, 2008).
Recommendations
It is recommendable for the leaders in this organization to encourage the spirit of participation among all the stakeholders in major organizational changes. Change within an organization is acceptable if all the stakeholders take part in deciding the change. This is to mean that the employees have the right to take part in the decision-making subject to change in the workplace.
Besides, it is advisable for the leadership to take the initiative to train their employees all the time to enhance their knowledge and skills that are important for change management within the organization. Continuous training of the employees plays a great role in equipping them with up to date information which matches with the current world. In so doing, the leaders will enhance efficiency and effectiveness in change management within the organization.
