My Statement
I’m a transfer student from Indiana State University, I’m a freshman and I’m transferring to University of San Diego because the college I’m transferring from doesn’t have a full accredited Sociology program in their curriculum which is basically what I want to major in. Plus, I have a job lined up down there in San Diego that works around my schedule and I also have family in that area as well. When I first went to the college I’m transferring from, it sounded like a golden opportunity to attend the school because I wanted to possibly minor in Business but as time went on, I found myself more drawn to follow my family members who graduated from University of San Diego with their Bachelors in Sociology. The college I’m transferring from was a decent school but its curriculum is lacking the Sociology major and I took a few Business classes while I was there and I discovered two things: 1. I wasn’t doing well in those classes at all, they also didn’t relate to anything Sociology related. 2. I took a few Sociology classes voluntarily at the nearby Ivy Tech and not only do I feel challenged by the subject of Sociology really keeps my attention which is important to me. My main objective is to graduate from University of San Diego with my Masters in Sociology so I can get a job in Social Work or use the knowledge I gain in the Sociology Masters program to open my own firm which has always been a dream of mine since I started college. I hope you make my dream come true and admit me into your wonderful school. I humbly await your response.
