My project involves establishing a medication camp next to the under privileged so as to bring the services to those who really need it. I would like to target the women as they are subsidized by the State already hence minimizing on cost. I would like to capitalize on the Texas Women Health program which involves offering of free services to low-income women. The project will involve setting up a camp along those affected to ensure that the needy are accessible. As the project mainly involves women, low income women, government approval will be needed and I have already acted on it. This will not be a barrier as approval is assured.
Background
Women in Houston, Texas, are known to be mostly affected health wise. And considering many of them are not employed, this creates a major issue as they cannot access the available health care at the going rates. With the introduction of the Texas Women Health Program, the rate of women accessing medical care increased tremendously, this showed a positive sign to the health program. But, not all women were accessible; the needy homeless women have no access to these facilities as they are far away from. With this in mind, My Organization known as, ‘Health Services to all’ has come up with a proposal as to how to access these women with medical care services. This will need funding in order to make it possible. With the awarding of the Community-Campus Partnership for Health to my favor, this will boost my efforts as my project will go forward, taking the health services to those who really need but due to various constraints cannot access it, yet it’s free.
We appreciate Community-Campus Partnership for Health principles in the offering of health care services to all at low cost and accessing it to the under 0priviledge. From this principle we have designed ways to liaise with CCP-H so as to accomplish its objectives as well as ours.
Plan and Method Schedule
The objectives of my organization includes the following: accessing each individual with medical care services; offering of affordable if possible free health care to the marginalized and educating the underprivileged of the of their rights to health care and the opportunities available. The method involved setting up of a camp in the targeted location for 10 days. My organization has already came up with proposal of how the set up will be conducted, contacting the relevant service providers to ensure that everything will be in place once the project is confirmed. The organization is well experienced in offering of medical camps as this is not the first we are offering the services. There is already a set out timetable so as to ensure each day’s activities are conducted effectively and efficiently, with no waste of time and resources. The project is a time project hence executed in one phase, but we will request in the future for repetition of the project at least yearly
Staffing
.We have liaised with Women Health Care Centre of Houston which will provide as with specialties in various fields for specific days during the 10 day medical camp. Our organization being a student founded organization has also came up with ways of raising volunteers to help in the accomplishing of the project. Most of the volunteers already approached are students in the field of medicine, nursing and social community relations giving the appropriate staff for the project as well as reduction in cost.
Managers include the administrators of our organization as well as our key partners including Women Health Care Centre of Housing representatives and other partners who may join. Coordinators will include the supervisors at ground as well as those charges with equipment’s
Budget
This project will require approximately $250,000 so as to successfully complete the project.
Conclusion
The partnership will result in medical care to the needy and the underprivileged women in the society, giving free medication to all, hence promoting the principle of CCP-H. The award will highly favor all parties as all will be in beneficial, mostly the society.
