In 2010, President Obama signed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) to make changes in the health care system. Section 5204 has established to ensure public health workforce loan program. The law has ensured that the public health professional would receive up to $35,000 repayment loan for pursuing health degree. It was made to eliminate the shortage of health professionals in federal, local, and public health agencies. The section has generated positive results for the nursing profession and makes the supply of health professionals certain. It has managed the shortage of health professionals and increases their supply in the public health agency. It has improved motivation among existing nursing professionals and meet the patients’ satisfaction. It has controlled the nursing workload and improved the health safety system in hospitals. It has controlled the increased demand of nursing and managed the cost pressure force on the health care organization (American Nursing Association, 2010).
Section 5301 has established an allowance plan for medical colleges, hospitals, and other medical institutes to arrange the primary care training program and improve the students’ capabilities. The section brings some changes in the nursing profession and impacts positively. It has promoted the concept of training and development program in the medical institutes and enhanced students’ abilities. It has increased the career advancement among the medical professionals and developed innovative academic units in the primary care. It has increased the teaching health sector and expands awareness about the medical profession. The medical professional has improved their knowledge, skill, and other abilities to perform in an effective manner. It has increased the motivation and dedication among nursing professionals (AUCD, 2010).
