Annotated bibliography refers to a list of books, articles, and other documents. It consists of a correct citation of the material for which the annotation is to be written. The citation is then followed by a brief paragraph that is usually about 150 words which generally describes and evaluates the cited material. This paragraph is usually regarded as the annotation. The annotation usually informs the reader about the significance, accuracy, as well as the quality of the cited material in relation to a chosen subject. Further, the first line of the annotation must be indented and the print must be in times new roman font 12. It must also be borne in mind that the MLA requires double spacing throughout the document.
With regard to the first annotated bibliography, the source citations adhere to the MLA standard. However, the annotations do not help much. They do not state whether the cited materials is relevant, they are not evaluative, nor do the notations state the accuracy of the cited sources. Consequently, the format of the annotations does not adhere to the MLA requirements.
As regards the 2nd peer review the citations are properly done but the annotations are not thorough as they are not evaluative and they do not give information regarding the relevance of the sources thus making the annotations incomplete. The annotations are also incomplete in the sense that they fail to identify the research question, the method used and the eventual inference given sin the cited materials. The annotations also do not adhere to the MLA formatting requirements.
Regarding the third review, the student should consider using more peer-reviewed books and articles to back the assertions made. This will ensure that the information provided is more reliable to the reader. Researching the topic from other materials would certainly help the student write a well-informed article. This will ensure that the essay has clarity and that the reader is able to follow and understand the trail of the writer’s thoughts. One should also examine the available facts and basic knowledge as this will certainly give one a better perspective regarding the subject.
