The people of the southwest play a big role in the development of archeological sites in America. This is because of their unique cultural practices and artifacts archeologist have discovered in the past. In Grand Canyon Project, we seek explain the major stakeholders involved in the study of the people of the southwest, and the different views people have towards this report.
Who were the “stake holders” on this project? What were some of the different perspectives that can be found in this project?
Secondly, this project reflects on the influence of the world on the indigenous groups of the natives. According to this project report, natives groups changed their practices as other parts of the world were also developing. For example, the way early inhabitants of the Colorado plateau used to hunt, changed with time as generation become more intelligent coming up with advanced methods of hunting deer. As time moves on, the grouping were also evolving and coming up with advanced tools that were used in their practices. The indigenous groups that lived new the river, start basket weaving, others were iron smith while other groups chose on the best practices that matched their cultural practices.
In addition, in this report reflects on the naming of people with the place of origin. In the modern world, we often name people from their geographical location, like African from Africa, European from Europe and American from America. The same concept is applied by archeologists; they tend to name prehistoric groups according their geographical homeland for example Mogollon from Mongolia.
The relationship between archeologist and indigenous grouping is characterized by clear respect, communication and cooperative cultural activities that are practiced by both parties. Those who study the history of native groups discount the evidence collected by the early archeologists and evidence collected as artifact.
What seemed to work well, and what were the challenges?
This report show the increasing intellectual development in the field of archeology by individuals who are in a position to document the interest of the original inhabitant’s cultural practices. In this report, archeologists are able to identify some of the cultural practices, the Mogollon and Indians practiced. For example, in the Colorado River, archeologists were able to collect evidences that reflect on the early group methods of hunting. The cultural understanding of the native grouping is brought using evidence that is collected and presented using factual figures. The report brings out the social and political powers that influence the life of ancient inhabitants. The discovery of the social and political influenced worked well in the report because of the evidence presented with the aim of understanding the social and political influence affected the life of early natives. Additionally, the story of the southwest people worked out well. This reflects on the good life the early Indians lived. However, there are few issues that were challenging according to the revelation of this archeological report. The report is incomplete without finding of the challenges they faced.
Recommendations regarding the future of this project
In the future report, there are few issues that ought to be considered in order to make the report complete. The social life of the native groups of the natives is important in understand why they practices such cultural practices. It is important to understand the challenges faced by the native groups and how the tackled such challenges without harming their practices. In the future, the following issues should be considered to make the report worth to be adopted by any historical institution;
- Identify measure that will be used to preserve the few artifacts that are in the hands of the citizens
- More studies should be conducted in order we can come with deep analysis of the ancient natives that can be adopted in our archeological sites
- The few individuals who still practice the ancient cultural practices should be considered in validating the report of any future project
- The project implementer should considered the finding of this report because the finding represent actual cultural practices of the original native inhabitants
- More research should be conducted to ensure there is no artifact of unique finding is left out in the development on the new archeological sites.
- Promote young archeologists from the native community in the research group because there are in a position of understand the practices better.
