According to Viederman (38), the three core factors that sustain the culture of a society include economic development, social development, and environmental protection. The history of Quebec can be evaluated appropriately if such factors are optimally understood. The main factor is social development. According to Viederman (39), originating from the historical times, Quebec has fundamentally stable legislative systems and programs, which ensure that the health and wellness of inhabitants are adequately protected. In addition, over the years, people have been provided with an avenue to access essential resources without compromising their quality of life. Besides, for a long time, Quebec has emphasized on sustainable education. For example, it has implemented regulations, which encourage individuals to take part in general maintenance while informing them about the impact of societal protection. The laws also warn the subjects about the dangers or challenges associated with the failure to achieve the social development goals (Viederman 39).
The second factor is economic development. Since its historical times, Quebec has always sought to implement a practical political ideology, which is effective in facilitating and maintaining economic progress. Indeed, such an approach has helped Quebec to become a hub for numerous jobs opportunities. The government has also been providing incentives for businesses to remain adherent to economic sustainability frameworks beyond their normal legislative needs. Today, Quebec is one of the major economic benchmarks.
The third factor is environmental protection. For a long time, Quebec has led the way in environmental sustainability initiatives such as recycling and the adoption of green power strategies. According to Viederman (40), half of Canada’s hydroelectric power is generated by the Quebec hydroelectric stations. However, there are other important energy generation stations distributed across the region, including the wind and solar plants. By adopting such an approach, Quebec has underlined its motivation to fight the issue of climate change, which is a crucial issue in the twenty-first century.
