There is a problem statement in the study. Authors point out that brides-to-be tend to be highly concerned about their beauty and weight and their concerns together with social, media influences cause excessive pressure on engaged females to engage in different healthy and unhealthy practices of weight management and appearance improvement.
Authors also point out what were investigated and found in previous researchers on this topic and what previous researchers lacked. Analyzing limitations of previous researchers authors indicate what is important to done in their study. For example, previous researchers were limited by somewhat small samples, etc.. Researchers of the current study also indicate that it had not been investigated before what practices, behaviors brides-to-be apply to decrease their weight.
Hypotheses
Discussions, Conclusions, or Recommendations
Results are discussed in terms of topic to each it relates and it terms of initial assumptions, too. Description of results is well-organized and divided into small sections which explain topics related to initial hypotheses. Authors of the study do not indicate whether hypotheses were confirmed or disproved.
Results of the study are discussed in terms of its agreement and disagreement with results obtained by previous studies in the area of eating disorders, beauty and appearance issues, healthy and unhealthy dieting, etc. For example, authors point out that previous studies found that, with age, people become less concerned about their appearance issues. The results of the current study are not consistent with conclusions of previous researchers because the current study demonstrated that brides-to-be are concerned about their appearance and weight irrespective of their age.
Researchers also discuss limitations of their studies and explain what factors could influence accuracy of results of the study. For example, researchers point out that because they recruited participants of the study from popular wedding websites, the sample could represent mostly those brides-to-be who are the most concerned about their wedding day`s issues. Based on indication of limitations of the current study, researchers also proposed ways of improving their future studies in the dimension of pre-wedding concerns, health and beauty issues of engaged women, etc.
