This world is full of heroes and cowards. However, the people most respected in the world are those who stand out and conquer their fears, challenges and tribulations, outshining them and emerging victorious. Out of the numerous heroes and inspirational personalities of the world, there are a few known for the traits that embellish their personalities. There is Malala Yousafzai, who is much celebrated for her remarkable bravery, William Cage acknowledged for his phenomenal integrity and then there is Mr. White McFarland USA, who is recognized for his persistence.
Malala Yousafzai is a renowned educational activist, and she raises her voice for children’s education and the right to female education. Her story begins in Pakistan, where she lives in a small city which is under siege by a notorious terrorist organization (Fine). The radicals and fundamentalists prohibit the females of the city from going to school and having any kind of freedom or education. Malala, a mere teenager at the time, proposes she will not bear this unfair atrocity and goes to school secretly, meanwhile writing a diary for the BBC which she sends through contacts to the Western World. She writes about the ban and how it affects her and her classmates who want an education. However when the terrorists discover that she is antagonizing them, they target her and shoot her in the head. Malala is luckily rescued and flown to the UK where she is treated and offered to stay. Accepting the proposal, she begins working viciously for the educational rights of children and becomes the youngest Nobel Prize for Peace winner. Her bravery is exemplary, and it stands out in the face of courage and hope, through which she was able to fight for what she believed in and actually made a difference in the world with her voice (Fine).
Another heroic figure is that of William Cage in the Edge of Tomorrow where he is a timid yet honest and highly moral person. The character initially a timid and weak PR specialist is responsible for broadcasting thousands for the UDF. The earth has been invaded by aliens who mimic the actions of the humans on earth. However the invasion begins, he is forced to join the forces against the aliens fighting alongside the humans. He protests because he knows that whatever actions are taken against the aliens will eventually be mimicked by them and acted upon the humans eventually. Nevertheless, he is forced in. The character’s strength lies in his integrity and strong moral discipline. He is not much of a fighter, but he has a strong sense of what lies ahead and this is planned upon intuition and forward thinking on behalf of the character he is playing. Cage shows that a lot more can be conquered if a person has a humble predisposition to matters even if he is in a war and has the ability to preserve his moral sense in a sublime manner which can help him conquer all adversities and emerge a hero (Edge of tomorrow).
The third inspiration character is that of Mr. White McFarland USA, a character known for his persistence. He is the epitome of persistence and hard work, aided with faith and hope. As a coach for a high school he gets fired and is forced to take up a job at McFarland High School, which is predominantly Latino in population. At first struck by the minority present in the majority, he feels taken aback but then he decides to build the best football players out of these students. There he begins his persistent efforts, and a cross country team of 7 Latino football players is built with the help of McFarland. He is phenomenal for his deep faith and high aim, without discrimination amongst his students (History vs. Hollywood).
