The Type Focus Assessment is an assessment which provides the recipient with answers and reference about their personality, interests, values, career goals, and education plans. This assessment is valuable for the recipient because it helps them to understand what is important to them in their lives and what makes them happy and interested. Also, the assessment provides an evaluation of a person’s strengths and talents which can help increase satisfaction in many areas of life. This information and knowledge is helpful when making important life decisions and career choices. My Type Focus result is ESTJ, which means I am a very logical person. With this result, it shows me apply logical reasoning to many areas of my life, including people, places, and things.
My opinion about the assessment is the information provided in the results is very valuable and accurate for my personality, interests, values, career goals and education plans. I really enjoyed how the assessment is broken down into different sections or categories to show the different areas of a personality. For example, the “Summary of Careers” category has a list of several attributes related to my personality type and the traits I have which fit with certain careers. I like this because it takes a more granular look into each of the major personality categories and provides me with detailed feedback about myself, I can use to understand what I am looking for in my career. I think the assessment asked a variety of questions and covers a wide range of topics specifically related to helping determine my preferences and personality type.
I agree with the result of the Type Focus Assessment because the results describe me accurately. The results state I pay attention to details and discipline and make sure my goals are met. I am very goal-oriented and will do whatever it takes to accomplish my goals. I will not let anything stand in my way and when I set out to complete a task, it gets completed to my fullest ability. Another spot-on statement is when the results mentioned that if you want a job done you give it to someone with my ESTJ score result, which is me. I work in the Information Technology field and often have to work with end users to resolve their issues. I enjoy helping people find resolution to their problems and do my best to help them get through the issue. The Type Focus Assessment results mention people with an ESTJ score like me are tough-minded, goal-setters, which is exactly what I am.
What I learned from this assessment is that I am an extrovert, I enjoy working with others, and I accomplish the goals I set out to accomplish. While I knew many of these things about myself, it is helpful to have these traits re-enforced in my mind. As an extrovert, I may talk without thinking since I am so focused on helping another person resolve an issue, that this is something I can learn from and be aware of in the future. Also as an extrovert, I enjoy working with other people. In the Information Technology field this is not always the case as a lot of people in this industry are introverts and enjoy working with them. But for me being an extrovert, I will be more aware of my enjoyment of working with others and be in positions where I can interact with others to solve problems. My career path is focused and I understand that if I set out to accomplish a goal, I need to be sure it is the correct goal to undertake because I will surely accomplish it. This assessment was helpful to me in recognizing I am skilled at accomplishing my goals no matter what the obstacle. Overall, I think this assessment provides valuable feedback about my personality and will help me in the future as I make important decisions.
