QUESTION 1
The content sources which I will need to review include the following: Site speed; site speed has something to do with the rate at which people or clients can download materials or information from the website. Some of the questions which I will have to ask myself here is whether the speed of the site is fast enough to enable both the clients and the two departments: marketing and sales to access and review the feedback from their clients about their services.
Review of the website speed is important because it determines the rate of accessibility of the website. Slow speed could lead to low accessibility hence creating conflict between the marketing executives and the sales executives. Each department might blame the other for contributing to the low download speed of the website.
Another content source to review is the site content which is made up of the site pages, content drilldown, landing pages and also exit pages. As I review these pages, the questions that I will be trying to answer include: the most visited pages in the website, the performance rate among others. I will look at the pages which are performing well against those that are not performing well.
Site usage is another content source that I will review. I will keenly look at the rate at which the site is being used both by the clients and the sales and marketing department. The main question I will be asking myself here is how often is the site being used both by the marketing and sales executive to carry out their activities. If this is the source of the conflict, then I will make sure that the site is divided in such a way that marketing executive have their page same to sales executives.
Overview of the website is also another important content source I would need to look at. Here, I will look at the percentage of visits of the site with or without the site search. Reviewing overview of the website will enable me collect relevant information related to the site and its performance. The overview will enable me to answer questions such as the percentage of people visiting the site and their intentions. Overview information can also help to resolve improve the performance of the site.
Question 2
A programmer is a person with knowledge and skills who rights computer software or who are able to develop computer software. On the other hand, professional organizations are non-profit making organizations made up with individuals who are seeking to further a certain profession or a body of individuals entrusted with maintaining control or legitimate practise of a particular occupation.
Cognitive approach is defined as the use of mental capacity to solve a problem. Therefore, the most likely cognitive approach that will be employed by the organization is problem solving approach whereby a problem is identified and solved in through a given systematic scientific procedure. Being a body of professionals who believe that their decisions should be final, this will have a tremendous impact on my analysis and reporting standards.
This is because; a slight deviation from what they expect is likely to result into a conflict of interest. I will find it extremely difficult to come up with my own analysis and report what I think is right. Therefore, there is likely to be a conflict of interest during reporting and analysis as long as what I purports to report are not in agreement with what the professionals think is correct.
Question 3
The best option here will be to get agreement for more analysis work before proceeding. This is the surest way because proceeding and building in additional analysis along the way may as well be rejected as there is already signs that the implementer’s may not accept the analysis.
In order to come up with a new analysis which shall be accepted through all the way? I shall firstly identify the source of the key point that I left out after which I shall start the analysis procedure a fresh baring in mind the key point I left out. I will proceed to carry out my analysis using a different procedure in order not to miss out the key point that my sponsor pointed out.
After completing the analysis, I will edit the analysis to ensure that the key point is taken care off. The next step will be to take a draft of the analysis to my sponsor for approval. After taking the draft, I will request my sponsor to highlight the areas that could bring controversies with both the boss and the implementers. I will then edit the draft as instructed by the sponsor and then come up with the final copy of the draft.
The final copy will then be submitted to the sponsor for him/her to submit to his/her boss. Coming up with a new analysis is recommended since it shall enables me to come up with an analysis that shall be accepted by the sponsors boss and the implementers. Furthermore, it ensures that the chances of the implementers refusing to implement the analysis are reduced to almost zero. On the other hand, building on the already analysis is not appropriate for our case. This is because the chances of the implementers refusing to implement the analysis are very high.
Question 4
While looking at the quality of the data report and analysis, I shall take into consideration the following factors.
The structure of the report; actually, the structure of the report is very important to the executives. For instance, I will look whether all the sections required for a professional report are available. This is because it enables the executives to determine whether the person who did the report actually understands how information should be displayed in a report.
Apart from the structure a good report should have a clear title and abstract; remember, this are the most read parts of the report therefore, the report has to have a title and an abstract. The title has to reflect the overall message that is contained in the report. On the other hand, the abstract should be short; about two paragraphs and should contain the essence of the report.
The third thing I will look at is the introduction. Here, the report should answer questions such as the setting of the problem or the background of the report. The forth item I will look at is the reliability of the source of information; as a professional, it is important to acknowledge the source of information that has been used in the report. The source of information is important to the executives because it enables them to understand the source of information that has been written down in a report. Some executives may consider reports without sources as biased reports.
The firth fundamental item I shall look at is the relevancy of the information contained in the report. Remember, different reports answer different questions. Therefore, I will look at whether the report contains relevant information which it was intended to address.
