Application for Cardiology Fellowship
Getting to where I am currently has not been a walk in the pack and I strongly believe that my undertakings at the undergraduate level have been instrumental in preparing me for successful academic achievements. Consequently, I am tendering my application for Cardiology Fellowship. I have been ascending uphill in flip-flops throughout my life and even though I understand that this happens to everybody, I also believe that the foundation upon which one walks determines their success. My foundation has been firm and supportive. Looking back, I appreciate that the obstacles I have faced have ensured I get a strong footing even as I look forward for your consideration.
My desire is to hold this position for a year because since I enjoy teaching, I will have an opportunity to teach residents and medical students as an Attending Physician. I am also in charge of leading conferences which involve teaching residents. Additionally, I have dedicated time for research and have a project that I will be working on other than having the opportunity to work with program administration to improve the curriculum.
My interest is in heart failure and currently I am involved in a research project that will evaluate the impact of a structured exercise program on heart failure hospitalizations and mortality. Its secondary outcomes will involve the impact of exercise on sleep, fatigue, depression, frailty, and cognition. Consequently, my experiences through research and interactions with patients with heart problems have given me a background in this area. I have dedicated time for this during my residency rotating. I perform many cardiology rotations, spend lots of time on heart failure service and work closely with the Heart Failure Program Director.
I have good communication skills and get along well with both my clients and colleagues. It is important to note that as a team player, my preferred environment has always been working well with others. On the other hand, I have never been scared of working hard in a challenging environment judging from my academic and professional qualifications. This hard work serves as the source of my self-motivation, a fact that makes me a very capable candidate for task ahead. I am a responsible man and my reward has always been a sense of fulfillment I derived from the responsibility of serving those in need of my help. I am always dedicated in whatever I do and focused towards achieving my set goals. In this case, I have the dedication of serving patients within the Cardiology Fellowship and this is my focus. Additionally, I am constantly interested in learning and open minded to enrich myself with knowledge.
My current teaching responsibility, service to the community and postgraduate training has also exposed me to many patients, serving as another source of inspiration to me to pursue greater heights in this field. My desire to offer service to patients and enhance my knowledge is matched with my ability to work for long hours and compassionate nature. I am confident that my experience will bring in the much needed skills to ensure that this program is not only a success to me but to the whole program. Subsequently, I am determined and confident that this would make me a prolific and proficient candidate in a Cardiology fellowship program. I will appreciate your consideration as I look forward to it.
