When old enough at the age of 18, I became an employee of the family’s business. During that time, I was assigned management responsibilities, which included revising rules and regulations to improve employee performance and help the business move forward. After that adventure, I entered college and earned an LLB degree in law from Abia State University in 2001. The following year I went to Nigerian Law School in Abuja and took the Bar in 2004.
Having completed academic goals, I was ready to achieve my dream of becoming a corporate lawyer working with business clients. Employment at the Nigerian Communications Commission where rules and laws are regulated for telecommunication companies, as well as licenses issued, allowed me to learn many business strategies. After successfully completing this adventure, I joined Lord Forte Chambers, a major corporation in Abuja that incorporates companies, registers businesses and provides other supportive legal services.
In 2007, my husband resigned from Temple University as the Medical Director and started his medical practice. I joined our family business as the Administrator and attended Montgomery Community College to learn medical coding and billing. This was another exciting adventure that afforded me the opportunity to coordinate and organize our tremendous medical practice, while providing care for our three children. Additionally, I also became an independent beauty consultant and distributor with two trading companies.
We are expanding the family business to include a pharmaceutical unit in Nigeria, which is the reason for pursuing an MBA at your university.
