In this letter I want to express my deep interest in your Graduate Program. Driven by the idea of becoming a qualified professional in Business field, I am ready to spend years studying, being convinced that my efforts will be eventually appraised. Having a clear understanding that in order to succeed in any field one has to love what he does, and I can undoubtedly assert that I am one of those individuals. I can spend days reading the professional literature, imagining myself as one of the university students, and later on as one of the workers at some transnational company.
The purpose of this writing is not to prove that I am the best candidate for you, as I understand that I am not, however I sincerely think that you might need one of those, who is willing to do anything in order to make his dream come true. The dream of my life, which consists in contributing to society and helping my country to become rich and prosperous. Money and fame is not something I aspire to, as I truly believe that individual becomes happy and satisfied with his life only when he does something he loves to do.
I grew up in Hong Kong, the city which is full of companies, factories, and businessmen. However there is a huge difference between them and Americans, the difference which has actually made me to move to the USA. People in my country are very conservative, and are not willing to adjust to changes, and these qualities are exactly what stop them on the way to success and self-development. That is why I hope that all of knowledge I gain while studying in your University will help me to bring and spread some new ideas and believes.
As for my educational background, it is not very reach, but it was enough for me to understand that that the decision to dedicate my life to Business field was the most felicitous in my life. I chose to self-study and to take the GED test instead of public exam in Hong Kong, as the education system in Hong Kong is very limited, and I consider it to be a waste of time and effort.
Lastly, I would like to describe the skills, I have acquired during my life, skills, which I believe will help me in succeeding in the chosen profession. Being a captain of the soccer team, I know what a team work is, and have a good understanding of how to make a group of people to work organically for the sake of one goal. Also, having volunteered as a journalist at our school newspaper I have gained good communication skills, which always help me to deal with people in different complicated situations.
They say “Whatever the mind of man can perceive, it can achieve”, and I sincerely hope that after your decision about accepting me to the Seattle University is made, this quote could be applied to me.
