Relentless pursuit of a goal set out, even in the face of severe hardships and numerous failures till the goal is reached is something that I am proud of. I know it has not been the most easy life since my teens – I had that burning desire to be an entrepreneur since I was young – much younger and my earliest tryst with it was the making yoghurt and Jelly which I supplied to five restaurants – not the greatest of success stories, I must acknowledge, but yes it was a journey well begun .
What has driven me is the inner need to provide excellent products to the customers. I love creating and delivering great products to customers. I have always believed that good customer service will always pay its results. Identifying needs of customers and fulfilling them has been my motivation all along.
I had a pleasing personality all along and that has been my mainstay – I knew how to get around with people. More than “managing” people, I knew how to get them to own what they do and deliver things. I always make sure that people around me look for solutions in their problems and opportunities in every problem. I even encourage them to make mistakes. I believe it helps them learn. I have been supervising people for a long time now.
I was down once in a way, but not out. What strikes me about myself is my attitude, nothing ever seems to hit me and pull me down, I always manage to get up and run again. I always see an opportunity where everyone sees gloom and shadow. Possibly it is this sunny disposition that takes me far in life and wanting me to go ahead and succeed always. The entrepreneur in me has not died, it is only taking a break and rested a bit.
I know I need to be an entrepreneur and this current job does that exactly to me. I need to bring in business, lead my team to achieve their goals and service the business I get. I have my teams to do that. I need to lead from the front and ensure the organizational goals are met. I have made yogurt and jelly, I sold customs forms. Then I took up a job as a Manager at Mountain and Air Book store. I have trained people and embarked on a project that could save costs and increase profits for the company.
Perseverance, coaching, confidence, poise and positivity have always stood with me and they will continue to be with me now and forever in the future. The challenges that I have faced earlier has made me stronger and more able. Now I have the ability to stand and stand tall. I have reached a place where I can say I am not a failure. My job allows me to do what I love most – entrepreneurship. I now work at the Flame Broiler Restaurant. I love coaching the younger employees and keep track of goods coming in and going out. As usual delivering customer service excellence drives me.
I have used the same objective approach with people across different cultures. I may not understand their language, but I can feel their emotions and when I am genuine, I build that instant relationship. Objectiveness and fairness have built my brand today and I am acknowledged for it.
I see the potential that I can be an excellent business leader and lead my team to greater success constantly. I am on the path to achieving it and I will do it. I know one day I will reach there, maybe a little slowly, but definitely surely. I have it in me do it and I also have the confidence and perseverance to do it! I look forward to contributing to my team and the people around me as I grow further in life.
