I believe that I deserve to receive a scholarship as I am a driven and highly self-motivated student with a wealth of experience and knowledge which help to make me the ideal candidate for a place on the MA for International Management. However, the financial cost of such a course is something I will struggle to cope with and so, I ask you for a scholarship so that I can continue driving my career forward.
My previous experience of working in industry has been provided, for the most part, by Siemens AG. I have completed two internships for them: the first being in a marketing role as the Project Manager for implementing marketing plans for new demos of products; the second involved me working for a number of departments including Human Resources, Corporate Risk Management, Indirect Sales and controlling the North-East region. I was able to continue my work at Siemens whilst studying for my bachelor’s degree and I continue to work for them today as an Internal Consultant. I am currently working full time whilst also writing my bachelor’s thesis which means I am able to save money to put towards my forthcoming Masters education. I feel that this demonstrates my commitment to the choice to continue my studies and shows that I am not simply looking for hand outs, but willing to really work hard for this. I am extremely proud of my wide expanse of experience and again, I feel that this would make me an ideal candidate for a scholarship as my dedication to furthering my career is paramount.
My studies have also allowed me to explore a wide range of business-based areas. During 2008, I studied at London’s European College of Business and Management, from which I achieved a BTEC in Professional Development and a German-British Chamber certificate. Whilst studying for my bachelor’s degree, I specialized in financial management and marketing; two areas which I feel will greatly benefit me during my Masters studies. In my spare time, I spent two years coaching an under-10’s soccer team and I was captain of my floor hockey and soccer teams: a further two examples of my leadership skills and when coupled with my membership for the Munich Debate Club and the Investment Club Board at St Cloud University, I have consistently demonstrated my diplomacy and management ability throughout: skills which will make me excellent managerial material.
In conclusion, I am the ideal candidate to be given financial support in the form of a scholarship as I am fully committed to both the course and the furthering of my own skills and career. Furthermore, I am a dedicated worker, a great team player and an extremely personable person with the drive to achieve my goals and more.
