Podcast on The Murder Of Hae Lee
As per the murder of Hae, various pointers and evidence point to who really killed her. The testimonies of the various suspects in the case may be used to determine who really killed Hae. From the podcast, in my view, Hae was killed by Adnan and Jay. This is due to various reasons.
Firstly, the evidence that has been tabled by the prosecution pertaining to really his whereabouts on the afternoon that Hae was murdered each point to him. This is since, as per the way he talks he seems to be lying. This is seen from episode 1 all through the whole season. From the fact that he says he cannot remember what unveiled on the day Hae was murdered is a major sign of him lying. As per the way he talks, he is unable to fully give an explanation that would really explain what happened to Hae. Throughout the season, he seems not to care what people really think and this is seen when he plainly says “I don’t care what people think, it didn’t happen” From this statement it seems that Adnan was rightfully convicted for the murder of Hae.
Secondly, the fact that Jay was afraid of staying alone at the store and having to call to Josh to keep him company. From the fact that Josh was afraid of some individuals who he knew that were connected to the murder. This issue of him being afraid meant that he knew something about the murder. Due to the fact that Josh was able to call and testify that he called the police to come for him was a way of showing that he knew the murder had occurred and hence was surrendering.
Thirdly, from Josh’s testimony it was clear that the people looking for Jay were the individuals who were connected to the murder of Hae. This in turn reciprocated in him being afraid of the van and the people. This then led to him calling Josh and in the process of him being afraid of the people, he went ahead and told josh that the person who killed Hae was ofPakistani descent. All these evidence pointed back to Adnan and Jay who was said to be the accomplice in the murder.
Lastly, in the Last episode, he tells Koenig to take the middle ground, in that not to try and prove that he didn’t kill Hae. In my view, Adnan was guilty of what he had done and he out rightly knew that Koenig’s evidence would in the long run point to him. This was a way that he was trying to stop Koenig from ultimately coming to a conclusion that he was guilty.
In order to be able to clearly determine the case, various questions must be asked in order to fully be able to understand the actions that happened that fateful afternoon. One must first consider, what was the main aim of Hae deciding to bank school that day? Further one must go ahead and is what the relationship between Hue and Don was? How close were they? Did they have a misunderstanding on that day?
In order to be able to clearly know who the suspect in the case was, I would look into various things. For example, I would look at the individual’s emotions and how he acted when he was asked questions pertaining to the death of Hae. If the person was afraid and their stories were not in line with what happened then he was the perpetrator of this crime. In addition to this, from the fact that Adnan’s phone was used to make a call at that particular point on that evening that Hae was said to be buried that he must have been there personally or his phone must have been used at that particular point. The use of the cell towers may then be used to show Adnan’s exact positioning at the time of the death.
My theory of this murder case is that Adnan was still in love with Hae even after the breakup. On the day of the murder, he was able to know how Hae was going to do her activities. That afternoon he was able to follow Hae to talk to her, it seems he had information that Hae was going to meet Don that evening and jealousy took over and he planned to do everything in order to be able to stop her from going to meet her new boyfriend.
He then plotted a way of stopping her and it seems he conspired with Jay on how he would stop her from going to meet Don that evening. Their plan worked and in the process, Adnan and Hae got into an argument and he strangled her. He strangled her and without knowing he killed her. Adnan and Jay got scared and Adnan threatened to kill him if he said the issue to anybody. However, he was able escaped and this was the explanation for his restlessness hence him calling Josh. This may all be shown when he says that Adnan was threatening him and further he was able to testify against him.
