Introduction
Obama emerged victorious one again in the presidential election in the United States because his campaign had an obsolete advantage over his opponent, Romney. This advantage was to the fact that his campaign attracted critical groups in the country. These groups include the Latinos, African America and women group.
The Latinos group contributed about seventy one percent of Hispanic voters that voted for President Obama relative to only twenty seven percent that casted their votes for Romney. This turnout is considered the biggest Democratic margin since 1996. They were much concerned about the economy as whole and they were worried of the Romney’s unwillingness on giving a straight forward policy on immigration reform. They favored Obama since he was willing to provide undocumented Immigrant Deportation Reprieves.
A very huge turnout of about ninety three percent was massively attracted by president Obama’s campaign and they casted vote for him. The group supported president Obama due to his efforts in jumpstarting the stressed economy and enhancing the healthcare. They were also against the voters’ law that was backed by republican, which was a challenge to the minority groups who do not have the essential identifications.
Women, especially unmarried, contributed a massive turnout in voting for President Obama. About two third of single women casted their votes for president Obama while only thirty percent casted for Obama’s opponent, Romney. However, married women provided a larger turnout for Romney at 53% compared to 46% for president Obama. The unmarried women were attracted to Obama’s campaign because most of them are low-income earners who were favored by Obama’s economic policies.
