Introduction
The Middle East id the motherland of all the petroleum products in the world that comes in the form of crude oil undergoes fractional distillation and hence refined in various industries to get the petroleum products. Pollution involves the interference of either the soil, air, sound or even water. Some of the causes of pollution in the region are as discussed below.
1. Air Pollution
The air is affected by the emission of the exhaust fumes from the industries, facilitating the drilling of oil. (Shuval and Hassan 14)
Air pollution is also facilitated by the emergence of some of the end products of the crude oils during refining like the toxic sulfur oxide gas.
Air also gets interfered with through the emergence of the waste materials of the crude oil during drilling and transportation like the emergence of the Carbon toxic monoxide.
Air pollution is also caused when the petroleum products get burned and in the process, some harmful substances are released.
2. Soil Pollution
Soil also gets polluted when the crude oil products get infiltrated down the ground.
Soil also gets interfered with during drilling products causing a lot of dereliction.
Soil also gets interfered with when the crude oil products are burned on the ground surface that could cause the death of most plants and make a place infertile.
Soil also gets polluted when the crude products are poorly drained into the sewage systems, hence they leak into the soil. ( Jenny et al. 98)
The ground surface is also interfered with by the heavy tracks in motion.
3. Water Pollution.
Water gets polluted when the crude oil products are drained into the water bodies, and this block the oxygen amount hence the aquatic life gets killed.
Water also is affected when the some of the river banks are derelict upon realizing there is oil, and this affects the aquatic life.
Water also gets affected when the burnt products of the oil or its constituents get dissolved in water.
Water also gets polluted when the products of the crude oil get deposited at the base of the water tables, and this kills the aquatic life.
Oil and its constituents prevent sunlight energy from reaching the water surface, hence the aquatic life is destroyed.
4. Sound Pollution
Sound gets polluted when the tracks move, and they produce a lot of noise in their motions.
Sound also gets polluted during the drilling of oil using the drilling machines.
Sound also gets polluted when the crude oil undergoes fractional distillation in the chambers of the oil refinery industries. (Gryning and Schiermeier 78)
Sound also gets polluted when heavy tracks are, and machines are on course.
Conclusion
Oil though being the major source of energy in most of the industrial and domestic works the disadvantages that come with it are many. Pollution is a disaster since it causes the depletion of the ozone layer hence melting of ice at the poles causing global warming. The depletion of the ozone layer also causes skin cancer, which a disastrous cutaneous infection. Pollution, therefore, needs to be fought by all means in the world. Fighting pollution means securing the society, hence a healthy and a prolonged existence.
