The criteria used to determine inductees into the rock and roll hall of fame is consistency in the music business characterized by ability to spawn great and successful hits for 25 years after release of an artist’s record, and an artist’s significance and influence. With this regard, I believe the following artists are likely inductees into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in the future. These are Rihanna, Adam Levine, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Kanye West. The ensuing paragraph lists the reasons why these artists have what it takes to be inducted, a feat every musician dreams to accomplish in the course of their career.
Next on the list of most promising talents is Adam Levine. Best known for his role as the front man and lead vocalist for the pop group Maroon 5, the singer and recently achieved tremendous success as a solo artist with the singles moves like Jagger and the 2012 release Payphone featuring Wiz Khalifa. The later song received accolades for Maroon’s sexy voice fused between rock and RnB composition. The singer has won three Grammy awards and together with his band, they have achieved platinum status in the United States (Europa, 2013). The group has enjoyed consistent mainstream success since the year 2002.
Lil Wayne is also is a force to reckon with. Since releasing his debut album titled ‘Tha Block is Hot’ in 1999, the artist has remained in the scene demonstrating his consistency. He is a talented rapper who has tremendous impact on the youths worldwide (Stoute and Rivas, 2011). This is arguably true considering his label young money records has helped to raise the status of other superstars such as Nicki Minaj and Drake. Lil Wayne has had success in various genres including Rap music, RnB, Reggae and Hip Hop. The artist is arguably the most versatile lyrically.
Wiz Khalifa is another emerging rapper who has recently dominated the charts with his single releases and received positive reviews from critic, some who consider him the best rapper alive. His debut single ‘black and yellow’ peaked at number one on the billboard hot 100. He has had successful collaborations with leading artists such as Adam Levine in the song Payphone, thus illustrating his flexibility to fuse naturally into other genres (Europa, 2013). The artist is a source of inspiration to many youths in America aspiring to become rappers.
Lastly, we close the list with Kanye West who is a controversial rapper though must be talented for being immensely talented. The 35 year old is also regarded as a fashion icon and his trending designer wear have had huge impact in the fashion world. Kanye has released four consecutive number one albums in the United States. The albums feature collaborations with the Hip Hop star Jay-Z. The artist has the ability to fuse various genres such as baroque pop, alternative electronica, synthpop, RnB.
Concisely, the above artists have a bright career ahead of them. They all have what it takes to be inducted in the Rock and Roll hall of fame, which is talent, fame and tremendous influence that will in the future contribute towards development and the perpetuation of Rock and Roll.
