The world is evolving into the technology era where most of the tasks require technology in any form. The information technology has mold this world into a global place, and people are connected to each other via several means. The advancement in the process of completing a task is achieved through the emerging technology.
Technology has become an every-day use for the people. Therefore, people are found using technology all the time, and are surrounded by any form of technology. As the saying, every invention brings its advantages and disadvantages. Eventually, the excessive use of information technology has given rise to many social and health issues. In a society, people are known due to the interaction between them. People are connected to each other by taking part into conversation and discussions. In that way, people are aware of one another and share an emotional relationship among them. However, the increase in technology use has developed the boundary between the people in the real world. On the other hand, people in the real world seem to be close. The use of technology including, cell phone, media, and computer have isolated an individual from the surroundings. People are less concern about society, friends, and family. They have become indifferent to their relationships as their most of the time is occupied by the technology (Price, 2014). Moreover, the working individuals are subjected to work more since the growing technology requires more man-maintenance. Similarly, the easy accessibility of technology for the children has commenced the change in attitude of children in a negative context. Children are not regularly monitored by the guardians and parents. Hence, they may be indulged in activities which are for adolescents. Consequently, children get involved in certain criminal, unethical, and non-social activities. Moreover, the social communicating websites are quite dangerous. People share their personal details and pictures through this websites which can be used in blackmailing activities. Thus, such dangers increase the crimes in a society, and the user is at high risk also (Miller, 2013).
On the contrary, the positive effects of the technology cannot be neglected. The technology has developed a society and people in several ways. Technology makes people come closer to each other. People living at distant places can communicate easily. In this way, people remain connected to each other, and they can share the updates. In addition to this, the technology including media raises awareness among people regarding the everyday events taking place in other parts of the world. Subsequently, people have gained knowledge despite the distance in between. Furthermore, the social communicating websites invites people to discuss the news events. Several blogs invite people to share their opinions, and increase their knowledge.
Moreover, the use of technology has helped the people to make deals, presentation, assignments, and projects using the handy devices. Hence, people are able to work at any place and can utilize their time since, the traditional working desk is not required. In education, technology advances the manner of teaching eventually, the students can better understand and learn by the use of technology for instructions (Hampton et al., 2008).
The use of technology has merits and demerits, therefore, it is the responsibility of the user to consume the positive aspects of technology. The inventions are based on the aim of providing benefits to the people. However, inadequate and extensive use of these inventions leads to the ignorance of the advantages. Thus, people should learn to keep a balance between the social values and technology. For instance, avoiding the use of cell phone when attending a family event, putting all the devices shut at a particular time which is assigned to be spent with friends and family can be adapted. Moreover, reducing the unnecessary use of technology in order to prevent any danger can decrease the prevailing negative aspects of technology.
