Sometime back, a school construction bond was rejected in a certain district. Demographic trends have been on the rise here. Consequently, more children enroll in the schools found in the district. Nevertheless, more facilities had to be provided and expanded in order to accommodate the ever rising population as evaluated by the district officers. They even suggested that more schools be built in order to save that situation. The residents of that district voted against the proposal of constructing more schools. Instead, they suggested that a large and costly athletic stadium to host the football teams of the existing high schools. A change of plans led to increase of the funds of constructing the stadium.
This disagreement between the district officers and the parents was because the district officers did not involve the parents in decision making processes. The parents felt that their needs were not taken into consideration. For the sake of democracy, parents rejected their suggestions. The American history is inclusive of school leaders who had imperial delusions and the effects on the parents. It so occurred that in the 1960s, science teachers in a certain district came up with a program which was supported by local administrators. It gained fame nationwide and it was suggested that all learners and teachers to adopt it. However teachers had to go for in service training. They did not fully understand how the system worked and they quit teaching thinking that learners would make it on their own. Replacement teachers did not understand the system and they had to be trained with more programs coming up. As a result, the initial program failed despite the officers insisting that it was still effective.
