Vietnam is the country located in the Southeast Asia. It is one of the rising economy in the Southeast Asia. The economy of the Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economy of the world. There has been steady growth in the economy of the Vietnam since long time. Before the 1980s the economy of the Vietnam was highly centralized planned economy. It have shifted to the socialist oriented market economy after 1980s. The economy of the Vietnam is based on the agriculture. They use both directive and indirective planning.
The data presented on the table provides a clear picture about the economy of Vietnam. It shows that poverty and inequality still exist in the Vietnam. The businesses on the Vietnam are mostly small and medium business. Vietnam is a marketplace that have direct foreign investment as well. It is the market that allows investors to earn more benefits from the investment as products have higher demands here. The financial sector of the Vietnam have continued journey to a more strong economy. It helped the country to get more efficient economic solution.
The results of the inequality indicators shows great economic difference among the people of 2 levels. The wealth of the rich people are increasing while the wealth of the poor peoples are decreasing in a great extent. The GINI index of Vietnam shows that it is increased to .38. The GINI index varies from 0 to 1. It is based on the net income of the country people. The result 0 in the GINI index indicate equality and 1 is the proper inequality. The result shows that inequality on Vietnam is increased by .02 from 1993 to 2002. The graph also shows that the income share held by the rich people is increased while the income of poor people decreased.
The poverty headcount and the poverty gap is decreased in a significant number according to the graph. The poverty headcount is performed by performing a survey on the people of a country. It is the number of people who are living under the poverty line. The poverty gap index is calculated from the number of people living above property lines and the number of people living above the poverty line. It takes the net income of the people living under poverty line to get the result. The table shows that the economy of Vietnam is progressing and it is decreasing the poverty rate.
The people living under $1.25 daily income are fall under poverty line. The results shows that the country got significant economic growth that have decreased the rate of poverty but considering to all other factors inequality still exists in the Vietnam. The cost of living and other costs are increased. The GINI index shows that the assets own by the rich peoples are much higher compare to the assets own by the poor people. It shows a great gap between the people of two groups and shows that the resources were not equally distributed among the people of all group.
In conclusion, the economy of Vietnam will continue progressing but the inequality will also increase in case government fails to make balance on the wealth holds by the people of all levels. The economy where having huge difference on the wealth sharing have significant chance of failing in the future. It is essential to ensure that there is equality and proper distribution of the wealth to ensure that country is moving to a right path of prosperity.
