My essay is a description of my love for reading and how this developed by chance at best. The events include my moving to Southern California as a freshman in high school; this is particularly important since this was a major turning point in my life. It will help with identifying with the audience and draw them in through such possibly shared experience. The other event is being home-schooled since this was the source of my drive to learn to read. The audience will get a picture of my background and this will contribute to a better understanding of the prevailing circumstance. During this period, I learn that one of my favorite things to do is read and also get to experience many life events of some special people who have added meaning to my life.
These experiences are significant to me in many ways. To begin with, moving to Southern California opened my eyes to many different things in life. My love for reading
helped me realize what I was doing as far as my choices in life were not good ones; which helped me make better choices in life. Reading helped me make some awesome friends since I joined a book club and where I was living in Stockton this never would have crossed my mind. This passion has since grown and has impacted my life in a positive way.
My essay targets anyone who feels alone as a teenager, anyone that reading helped during difficult times in life and anyone who is being home-schooled and may feel bored or lack variety of activities to engage in.
