Introduction
In life when we face loss of our loved ones, what we experience is a grief. People have different ways of expressing their grief and each one has his/her own unique reaction towards it (Hospice Foundation of America, 2013).
In my grief, I will go for resources that are found in Hospice Foundation of America (HFA), whereby as a mourner you are expected to find a support group to help you cope up with the grief. This source is the resource of end-of-life care and they are used by patients, professionals and families who are in grief for their loss of loved ones. I would choose this source because at Hospice Foundation of America, I am able to find support groups that provide me with bereavement support for at least one year to overcome the grief. In addition, bereavement services are also provided to close friends and partners. Usually, hospices are recommended during grief because they provide support to people living in the community of their patients that they once served even if the occurrence of the death was not within the hospice (Hospice Foundation of America, 2013).
In Hospice Foundation of American, I would find useful articles that can help me during my grief. For example, in the article “Facing Sudden Loss” by Judy Tatelbaum, teach me to be brave and strong since it is important and not to miss the opportunity to express my grief by crying because by expressing my feelings I would get to heal my sorrows. Furthermore, I also learn the importance of seeking support from people such as the counselors as well as support groups such as bereavement groups, widows groups, suicide survivors, or The Compassionate Friends. These groups can only be found through our church, social service agency, or hospice. Through these groups, besides the help that I would get, I can also benefit the others and this can be the source of joy, strength and recovery (Tatelbaum, 1996).
